1965 Chevrolet Malibu SS Pro Street Additional Info:
You'll hear its exhaust note from quite a distance and that blower-topped motor peeking out from the center of the hood leaves no doubt about its intentions. This 1965 Chevrolet Malibu SS Pro Street is all about heart pounding acceleration. The way this vintage Chevy is configured, just a slight tap on the accelerator will push you back in your seat and put a smile on your face. Chevrolet positioned the Malibu to appeal to performance-minded car buyers right off the bat when it was introduced - and this aggressively modded '65 builds on that intent while upping the ante considerably as far as capabilities are concerned. Its squared off, first generation form makes it easy to picture it repeatedly roaring down a semi-paved road while vanquishing any car that dares challenge it. The Ermine white paint provides a suitably vintage look to accompany all that power and while a freshening would up its vitality level, it will no doubt turn plenty of heads in its present form. Up front, the hood sports a custom cutout to make room for the expansive powerplant sitting inside and some careful measuring was no doubt involved - it raises and lowers smoothly. Despite this Chevy being configured with an unusually powerful drivetrain, it remains straight and even on all sides - no small accomplishment considering the force it's capable of creating. The interior sports a combination of race-inspired configuration and detail you almost never see in a car of any vintage. Contoured racing buckets sit inside with the usual rear bench deleted entirely, covered in gray tweed that's matched by the door panels to either side and the carpeting below. Even the roll cage added for safety sports a matching cover. In front of the Grant GT steering wheel, the dash blends a vintage look with all the trappings of this car's high-performance purpose. The factory gauges in its cluster look nice and fresh and the dash pad running across the top is still looking strong, while a clock-sized tachometer, race-purposed shifter and a trio of after market gauges with a supercharger module just below indicate that this is no ordinary fixture on the boulevard. This automotive version of Everclear gets its power via a sizable 496 cubic inch V8 that was professionally built at the hands of Fort Worth's own Mac's Performance. It features Brodix heads, as well as a pair of Demon Carbs that join an 871 blower to provide optimum feeding - it runs on e85. The engine pairs with a 3-speed TH400 transmission that sports a cooler for added reliability under challenging, high-performance conditions. Fresh gaskets have been installed under its heads, intake manifold and valve covers for leak prevention. As you can imagine, the exhaust note it sends out its long tube headers leading to its dual exhausts is one that you aren't likely to forget. A Griffin aluminum radiator outfitted with an electric fan stands by in front of it to keep operating temperatures under control. Accommodations were also made to ensure that the power this Chevy generates gets placed on the asphalt as efficiently as possible - the adjustable coilovers in back are joined by a ladder bar suspension that offers mounts for wheelie bars. As ready for action as they come, this street machine scorches the asphalt on its set of 15" Weld wheels featuring massive, asphalt grabbing Mickey Thompson Sportsmans in back that have been nicely accommodated by some great tubbing work. With its ultra-powerful drivetrain accompanied by a well-configured interior to put it through its paces, this 1965 Chevrolet Malibu SS Pro Street is a standout. Call today!
