1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 Additional Info:
Very nice SS, too much to list so I'll keep it short. It is a Kansas city L trim tag SS. Somehow NCRS has found some records for these cars and they sent us the factory shipping info. It is a 454 but not numbers matching. It was built in early March and shipped to a dealer in Des Moines Iowa. ( It has LS-6 cylinder heads and comp. roller hyd. cam and lifters and T&D roller rockers. It is not the factory color, it was new Cranberry red, code 75 and it did not have the vinyl top. We did not do the body paint, we purchased it this way. The original color combination is the same as the 1970 sales posters. We have had the SS six years and it is a strong car. We were told by the previous owner that the motor dynoed @ 562 HP. I think that is close or a little conservative. Due to the high compression and not knowing if the valve seats were replaced we use a mix of 110 octane leaded racing fuel and 93 unleaded (something to think about it get's pricy). It handles and drives great but it is not for long road trips due to the fuel needs. Thanks for looking
