1971 Chevrolet Camaro SS RS 396 Additional Info:
I purchased this car from Dave Wallace, writer for many hot rod magazines, I found it under Barn finds Hot Rod November of 2007. This car was used for a Black Jack header conversion article in the early 80's, I have the photo negatives and the original exhaust manifolds that were removed, still has the headers on it with different exhaust system.
Pulled the engine went thru it with steel crankshaft, earlier heads for a bit more compression and a Thumper camshaft. Still has the original Carb, intake and distributor. I replaced stock converter with a 2800 breakaway. The car was a 3.42 non-posi So I installed a posi unit, same ratio.
The car has been repainted one time, body is VERY solid. I believe the top is original no body panels have been replaced. There is a dent where someone backed into something driver side rear bumper see pictures, the headliner is missing. This is a very honest car with nothing hidden what you see is what you get. If you have a question about anything or need a picture of something not shown, just ask. 505 350-5387.
Very low production Camaro still retaining it Original powerplant. I believe they produced 1006 396 cars in 71 with various transmissions and options.I do have the original heads and exhaust manifolds that are included with the purchase.
396,Turbo 400, AC,PBD,P, Tilt, I think they all came with front and rear sway bar, just some of the options I can think of.
