1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 Additional Info:
This is the kind of muscle car recipe you love to see. Take a 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle hardtop, add in serious big block power, insert plenty of additional performance upgrades, and wrap it all in a nicely restored body with Super Sport badging... now you have a winner. Lemonwood Yellow is a great era-correct color on these Chevelles. After all, it fits with the sophisticated undertone that's further conveyed with the newer black vinyl hardtop. It also has a bright presence that makes it quite memorable. This one is particularly striking because it has been treated to a restoration to give the paint a glossy shine that highlights the excellent body panels. It wears its aggressive nature well with SS 396 badge, racing flags on the front fenders, and "Super Sport" boldly written on the rear in chrome to match the bumpers. Plus, this Chevelle SS tribute has all the details right - from the twin intake hood to the ribbed rocker panels. And of course, nothing looks better on Chevy's Rally wheels than classic redline tires. For the same reason you like the black top against the yellow paint, you'll love the all-black interior. There was a nice investment here, so the seats, door panels, and carpeting all feel fresh. This is built to be a performance machine, and so you get all the right SS-style features, including bucket seats and a center console. Plus, there are nice upgrades like the auxiliary gauge trio and Hurst short-throw shifter. And the grip of the classic dual spoke steering wheel will instantly make you want to get down to speedy business. This coupe was already sporting a V8 when it rolled off the line in Atlanta. But its power has been ratcheted up considerably, courtesy of the 454 cubic-inch V8 now residing in the engine bay. Yes, we know this one wears the 396 era-correct badging of the time, but it's always great to see even MORE displacement. This power plant upgrade is showcased with the bright valve covers, matching air topper, and bold block all radiating from within the glossy black engine bay. More than just look nice, this big block has been given a healthy increase in performance with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Performer 2.0-intake, and a set of long tube headers. Plus, you have complete control over this enhanced V8 and its thunderous soundtrack thanks to the four-speed manual transmission. Add in power steering, front disc brakes, and modern BF Goodrich treads on the classic redline tires, and you have the recipe to easily harness all the power of this Chevelle. The right colors, the right power, and the right features combine for the right muscle machine. So don't let this hardtop slip away, call today!
