1948 Chevrolet Other Pickups Additional Info:

For auction is a 1948 Chevrolet Pick-up Truck 3100 Project. Features:

Transmission: Original Muncie SM420 Manual Transmission. Original case with E 19 8 code, indicating May 19, 1948 production. I shipped the transmission to Novak Transmissions in UT and had it completely re-built, all new gears, synchros, bearings and all inside the original case. Also I've installed new Clutch, Pressure plate and Slip Yoke.

Engine: A rebuilt 235ci straight 6, with serial number DR 155429 CAL, indicating it was Dealer Rebuild or Dealer Replacement out of California. It is a 1962 engine with the Head casting 3836848, which is a Hi-Performance Compression Head and 1962 came with the High Performance Camshaft.

Engine has all new ancillary parts, new Fuel Pump, New Distributor with Pertronix Electric Points Conversion setup, Re-built Starter and Generator, is setup on a 6 VOLT system with correct 139 tooth Flywheel. New Vacuum Advance, New Fuel Lines, vacuum pressure tested 17-18psi.

Rebuilt Carter YF Carburetor running perfectly.

Original Harrison Radiator, no leaks. New Thermostat and water pump, new fan and belt.

All 6 Cylinders have great compression, tested as follows Cyl 1: 120psi, Cyl 2 118psi, Cyl 3 114psi, Cyl 4 115psi, Cyl 5 118psi, Cyl 6 120psi. The timing is set with a timing light and the engine runs very smoothly. I did remove the oil pan and included a few photos, I painted the oil pan and when I re-installed it did not get a good seal on the front and back, so there is a little oil leakage on the pan, but this is an easy fix, I didn't have the time and space to re-do it.

New Exhaust, Tail Pipe & Muffler

Chassis: Wet Blasted and re-painted with primer and flat black. - New Tires x4 - New Shocks x4

Brakes: All new Drum Brakes installed x4 with new Brake Cylinders and new Brake master cylinder. All new Stainless Steel brake lines. I have not yet installed brake fluid so it will need this and to be thoroughly checked.

Body: I had the Cab wet blasted and primed along with both doors. Has original Hood, 4 Fenders and Bed Rails.

The Cab needs some minor body work to complete and paint. I have sanded a couple areas down (see pics) where it needs welding on a few holes. The doors also have a few dents.

The Hood, Bed Rails and 4 Fenders will need blasting and body work. Each of the 4 fenders does have a few dents, rips and areas that will need small patch panels.

Front & Rear bumpers are included. I do NOT have the Grille nor the Running Boards.

All Windows are included, except the driver side door window I do not have. The Speedo & Oil.Fuel.Amps Gauges are included. Also I have the hood latch and inside heater unit, these are included with the auction as well. Lots of extras - Just ask!!

Available for local pick-up, also I can make arrangements to personally ship this for you (I have a truck and can tow it covered on a trailer) for additional $600 anywhere east of the Mississippi.
