1977 Chevrolet Nova Concours Additional Info:
Selling my 1977 Nova Concours that always gets lots of attention and it cruises great. What I really like about the car is that you don't see these that often, and this one has some great features: Cabriolet top, buckets-console, gauge package, triple black. Its been a Northwest car since new and has been garage kept it's entire life. The car was painted once in 1999 using Dupont paint at a cost of over $2800, and it still shines like new..there a few small bubbles on the lower side of the drivers door, that you can only see if you're laying down otherwise the body and top are fantastic.
The car also come equipped with a TH350 transmission, an upgraded original 305 that now has a mild cam and a 4bbl, it has really good performance for what it is. I was going to drop in a crate 350 or stroker but the 305 runs so good that I decided not to. It has the larger/wider rally wheels, sport mirrors, and twin tip exhaust (it has a nice exhaust note..however it should be noted that there is no catalytic converter anymore). The original interior is still nice, but there is some fading on the top of the rear seat and a nick in the fabric, the drivers seat a two small splits, the headliner is great, as well as the carpet. I had a retro style radio installed that will play through your phone and it sounds great. The gauges and instrument lighting all work. I never tried the cruise. The airconditioning system comes on an blows cold, but then kicks off...low charge. The car really has more of a muscle car feel and look to it so I installed a Camaro/Corvette style steering wheel (original wheel is included) ..I think it really ties the whole package together.
The Concours models have a really nice interior with the woodgrain panels and this car is cool with the different steering wheel, gauges, console ect...I bought it from the original owners son-in-law so over the years its had following: timing chain, radiator, transmission (originally came with the T200..glad thats not installed anymore), has new gas shocks in the rear (I have new front shocks that I bought when I replaced the rears but I did not install them yet as it really doesn't need them), newish brakes, rear-end serviced, basically new tires, alternator and some other stuff I can't remember...basically whenever the car needed something it got..Right now it needs nothing. Everything works including the variable speed wipers and the squirters. It comes with a spare tire and jack, trunk is excellent
I feel that these cars are really what people remember and that they represent a sound investment. I'm a hard working man..who does not have $25k to spend on Camaro or Chevelle (I'd love to have one) and I have improved/enjoyed/maintained this car to it's full potential- so now for the next owner all you have to do is drive it, I would not call this car an entry level classic as it's better than that. I have a very reasonable reserve and for what I want for it you would be hard pressed to find anything better or more unique, I can't imagine GM made many like this one. I have tried to mention everything about this car and I know how difficult it can be to buy something sight-unseen.. Ask me any questions and I will promptly answer them. I bought a boat..so the Nova has to move on down the road..Thanks..you can call me if your serious at 312-972-7614
***Note: I had a guy really want this car back when this auction was originally posted, and I kept it as long as I could for him as he really wanted it. Well...as you guessed it he strung me along and then flaked out and the deal fell through... my phone calls are no longer returned..So please do ask me to end the auction early as I won't. This car is not listed anywhere else and I will let the auction run its course, bid what you're comfortable with and more importantly what you can afford, sorry if you bid on the car the last time....Thanks Tom
I will next day air the title and all of the records after payment is recieved in full and I will assist in meeting a shipping agent or come on by the house and pick it up...drive it home
