You are looking at a very rare 1971 Corvette loaded with all the options and that still retains its matching numbers drivetrain! Not only is it highly documented with the Protect-o-Plate, readable Tank Sticker, it comes with the original owner's manual and Consumer Information Booklet. The car is still showing original miles on the title. Current mileage is 94095. Restoration complete with 87,214.
The Tank Sticker outlines all the options which includes PW, PB, PS, Air Conditioning, Tilt-Telescopic Wheel, Alarm System, Shoulder Belts and STEREO Radio. If that's not enough, check out the ultra rare saddle interior on the Red Mille Miglia Paint. Saddle interior was not offered as an option with red however, you will see on the tank sticker a special over-ride code and saddle interior listed. The owner opted to add leather seat covers when redone. This car was built at the end of production and with 72 offering saddle as standard, GM allowed the over-ride.
If you are looking for a Corvette you can get in, drive anywhere and enjoy, this is the best one you will find!. This car was given a complete restoration approximately 15 years ago and only driven about 6.5k miles since. During restoration the owner opted to add the LT-1/ big block hood. When the engine was rebuilt a very mild cam was added so the engine runs and sound awesome. The tires were just replaced and a new battery installed. There is over 50k in receipts for all the work done.
Once the restoration was completed in 2004, the owners had a professional appraisal done in 2004 with an appraised value at that time of $32,000.
I am selling this car for a friend that bought it not knowing a lot about Corvettes. He just loved the car when he saw it. I have had several Corvettes over the years and actually have a 71 red convertible built only 2 days away from this one.
My evaluation: The car is an incredible find other than I believe the prep work prior to paint could have been better. The paint itself is glowing but I can see a couple of imperfections UNDER the paint, not in it. With that said I suggested a selling price under $30k and he settled on $28,900. This is a great price for a car with all the options and that needs nothing to drive anywhere and enjoy. You will be the hit of any car show.
FYI, I have verified all the numbers on the drive train. The original master cylinder was rebuilt according to receipts by Whitepost and is on the car. The original radiator was re-cored according to the records. It does not have the original water pump or starter. Clock does not work. It has a reproduction correct spare tire. Side glass (IN) and rear glass((LN) appear original. Windshield is new LOF replacement. Side mirror and rear view mirror appear original. Chrome is great. Air is cool typical 71. Exhaust appears to be aluminum. Frame looks solid. Alarm works but needs one door switch. It has upgraded valve covers. I’ll be glad to swap for my 71 steel covers.
As you can see, I have a perfect 100% rating on EBAY. I have tried to accurately describe this car as I see it, not as the seller. If you have any questions, please let me know. Any questions I can’t answer, I will refer to the owner. He is local and has the title. I have the car at my house.
Car comes with all the paperwork, appraisal and custom made car cover. Bob 407-468-1900
