Up for sale is my fully restored (after a 35 year nut and bolt, frame off restoration) original 1961 Fuel Injected Corvette. This is an original Fuel Injected Vette with every nut and bolt restored to original, including professionally rebuilt 283 cu in 315 HP V-8 and professionally rebuilt Fuel Injection, rebuilt 4-speed transmission and4:11 positraction rear axle, gauges, complete new interior, carpet and dash pad. Only 1462 Corvettes were equipped with Fuel Injection in 1961. There is nothing more beautiful and functional that the Fuelie unit under the hood. The car has a professionally installed new white soft top and frame.
The car has received the NCRS (National Corvette Restorer Society) Top Flight Award, receiving a score of 94.8% out of 100% of 4510 points judged. This judging process takes place over a 3 day period where a group of 12 NCRS judges examine and judge every part of the car for restoration correctness. You will want to see this car for yourself or send an appraiser to examine it. It has been professionally appraised at $149,000 and the appraisal is available as are additional photos taken during the restoration process.
One beautiful part of this car is its color combination, perhaps the best color combination of any Corvette produced. It has professional Roman Red exterior lacquer paint with Ermine White coves and new Al Knoch red interior, carpet and padded dash pad. While other Corvette colors are nice, let’s be honest – there is no better combination that this Roman Red exterior and Ermine White cove, with red interior. While black wall tires on some early Corvette might be considered a novelty, the original style wide white wall tires place this car at the top of perfection. All chrome has been professionally rechromed.
In the restoration process, the body was removed from the frame and was professionally stripped and professionally painted. The frame and suspension components were stripped, repaired and repainted as original. All suspension components were replaced or restored. A new restoration gas tank with all new hoses and lines has been installed. The original gas tank is available.
This car has less than 200 miles since completion of the nut and bolt restoration on a solid Southern car. The car is a numbers matching car throughout. The car is documented as an original Fuelie car with the original “Fuel Injection” side emblem and the car has all the identifying engine compartment elements that were peculiar only to the cars that were factory original fuel injected cars.
The car has the factory original restored AM Wonderbar radio, instruments, gauges and clock.
