1969 Chevrolet Blazer K5 Additional Info:
1 of 4935 Blazers produced in their first year of production. I bought this in 1997, but only drove it for about 4 years, it has sat out in a pasture for the last 17 years. Always intended to show it some love, but never got to it. Finally acknowledging the fact that I'm not going to do anything with it. It's a big project, but if you want a 1st year Blazer, here it is.
This one started with a straight six from the factory but has had a GM v8 dropped in it at some point in time. Edelbrock intake manifold and a quadrajet on top of it. The motor is not frozen, I hooked up a battery and it turned over. It ran fine when I parked it. Mice and the elements have had their way with everything over the past 17 years, so a few hoses are chewed off and holes filled with mud dobber nests. I'm not positive, but I'm assuming the 4 speed manual transmission and transfer case are original. Look to be a SM465 and a Dana 20. Also assuming the axles are original, 12 bolt rear and dana 44 in the front. It has a single wall top in good pretty good shape. All glass is good. SPID label is on glovebox door, but is mostly too faded to read. Flywheel dust cover is falling off and front diff is leaking. May not mean much after sitting, but I had a new exhaust and rear brakes put on while I was driving it. Odometer reads 90722.
I was told when I bought it that a restoration had been done on it around 1990. Looks like bondo was a big part of that project. The front fenders, hood and tailgate are in pretty good shape without much rust. Most of the rest of the body is missing, rusty or bondo. Passenger side hood hinge is broken. Four tires and one wheel were rotted away, I replaced those with something that will hold air so it can be rolled around without trouble.
Ask questions before bidding, see pictures, ask for more if you want to see something specific. If you are close by and want to see it in person, we might be able to work something out.
Please don't bid unless you have the funds and intent to buy. Do not send me a message asking me what I will take to end the auction early, I won't. I am listing this because it is fairly rare, and there may be someone out there that just has to have a 1969 Blazer. If you just want the '69-'72 body style, I'm sure you can find one in better shape to start your project. TRAILER IS NOT INCLUDED. The Blazer will be off the trailer when you or your shipper shows up to get it. I will not help with shipping.
