1964 Chevrolet C-10 Additional Info:
After enjoying it for several years, I've decided to sell my 64 K10. It's a real short wheel base 4 wheel drive fleetside, 1 of 564 short fleetside 4 wheel drive trucks built that year. It originally came equipped with a 283 V8, but that was long gone when I acquired it, so in it's place I installed a 5.7 tbi engine from a 87 model. The truck still has the original sm420 4 speed transmission & the Rockwell T221 divorced transfer case. Has the 12 bolt in the rear with the closed knuckle Dana 44 in the front.
When I found the truck, it wasn't in a barn, but sitting outside of the barn, where it had rested for several years. The bed was off of it & a tree had to be cut to lift it up to sit it back on the frame. Besides installing the fuel injected engine, I have gone over everything mechanically. Has new flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, fuel tank, seat & floor cover. New cooling system, with radiator, heater core, & all hoses replaced. The drum brakes have been completely rebuilt, has all new metal & rubber lines, & I split the system, it now has a dual circuit master cylinder replacing the original single pot maser cylinder. New wiring front to back with American Auto Wire harnesses, all the lights work as they are supposed too. Starts with the flick of the key & is quiet with a new exhaust all the way from the engine to the back. New shocks on all 4 corners, as well as bearings & seals. New windshield, all new weather stripping. N78-15 Gateway Buckshot Mudders are on original wheels.
Now for the bad, 54 years has taken it's toll on the truck's body almost as bad as it has my own. While the frame & drivetrain is solid, the body has rust & a good deal of it as can be seen in the pictures. The floor has been patched & the firewall is solid, but there is rust around the windshield. The fenders & doors also have rust. The bed & tail gate, while having their own issues with dents, etc., have mostly surface rust. The heater blows hot, but the blower motor makes noise when first turned on. All the gauges in the dash work, except for the speedometer. I have replaced the speedo cable, so it must be the the little plastic gear in the transfer case & I haven't gotten around to pulling it out yet to verify.
I've enjoyed driving the truck around town & to local cruise ins, it gets lots of looks & comments whenever I am out in it. The value of old trucks continues to rise & rarity makes this a good candidate for a complete restoration, or drive it as is as I have done & enjoy it. The only reason I am selling it is because I have too many projects & not enough time. Also, even though it does have a fuel injected engine, it is a 54 year old truck, & it drives like one. It rides as rough as you would expect, & power steering or power brakes on a pickup was not much considered then, so it's not something I'm going to get in & take on a 400 mile trip.
Not included, but available at additional cost to the buyer if desired is a later model sm465 4 speed transmission & np205 transfer case. I also have a 4 wheel drive 700r4 transmission & auto steering column, but no transfer case for it.
I am located in Columbia, TN, about 45 miles south of Nashville. I have attempted to describe the truck as accurately as possible, but it is sold as is, where is, with no claims other than what is stated above. $500 deposit through paypal within 48 hours of the auction close, balance by certified funds no later than 7 days of close. Transportation at buyer's expense. Truck is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the listing early. Thanks for looking.
