1962 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Additional Info:
Up for consideration is my 1962 Belair Sport Coupe project, better known as the 1962 Bubbletop. I have owned this car for a little over two years, I have started a restoration but have realized that I'm a car enthusiast not a car restorer. I'm hoping that the next owner can give it the restoration it deserves.I purchased this car from a man who's father purchased the car and several others in the mid 80's, he was hired to tear down a barn so he purchased the contents that included several 60's Chevy's. I found the car when I went to look at another car he had for sale, a 1962 Impala SS. Once I got there he showed me the bubbletop and another 1962 Belair post 409 car (no motor). For my project I bought both the Belair 409 car as a donor and the Bubbletop. My plan was to use the frame and positrac rearend from the 409 car, put the bubbletop body on it and put a 409 in it.
The frame has been stripped, sandblasted and painted with por 15. I have also installed Ridetech tubular control arms, shockwave airbags and Wilwood disc brakes up front. I also have new drum brakes for the rear. The bubbletop was complete when I bought it except for the motor and transmission. It was originally a six cylinder car according to the vin #. It has all the trim, glass, interior pieces except seat bottom but I have one from the donor car. I have removed the doghouse, doors and trunk lid from the car. The doors and trunk lid have had the paint removed and a currently off the car but all line up nicely when mounted. I have kept EVERYTHING I have removed from the car, looking back I wish I hadn't removed anything but can't change that. I have labeled and boxed everything. In addition to everything listed above I also have two Original front fenders from the donor car. The fenders were in good shape, I've had them sandblasted smoothed and primed. I have also purchased from Classic Industries the entire floor pan with rockers and braces, both rear quarter panels, front core support and several other metal body parts. These parts are all brand new unopened and stored in a dry location.I have a clear title for the bubbletop and one for the donor car I used.I do not need help selling, please no sales calls! I'm happy to answer any questions if I can but please don't call unless you are a SERIOUS buyer. I assume the right to end auction early, car is for sale locally. My number is 812-325-8095. If no answer please leave message. Car is located in Bloomington IN.
