The seller purchased this truck from an individual in Williamsburg, VA. Records included at that time show that it was originally located in Hickory, NC. My friend believes that he is the third owner of this truck and he's had it for approximately 4 years. Service receipts dating back to the late 1970's. The odometer currently reads 11,000 and change. Old receipts show 81-82,000 miles in 1980 and 8,000 miles in 1992. Clearly the odometer turned over some time in between. The 216 cid straight 6 engine was rebuilt 10 years ago however this truck is a true survivor. It's never had a frame off restoration and considering this fact the truck is in amazing condition.
DESCRIPTIONWhen my friend acquired the truck he spent hours and hours completely scraping, wire brushing and cleaning several years of grease and grime that had accumulated everywhere. He completely redid the interior and rebuilt all the gauges and every one of them work. Please note that all interior and exterior lights are in operational order. While the temperature control for the heater does not work, the heater itself does. Even the vacuum windshield wipers work just fine. The truck has a completely new exhaust system. New motor mounts. The transmission has been checked and serviced as has the rear differential. New clutch has been installed. New brakes along with wheel cylinders. New tie rods and ends. New pitman arm. Rebuilt starter. New thermostat. Completer tune up including spark plug wires. New oak truck bed. The truck has been updated to include seat belts. We see no evidence of meaningful oxidation on the body or frame. We did note what appears to have had some body work performed on the driver's side roof line above the door. Finally, all door and window seals in excellent condition. Truck starts, runs, stops and shifts great. The owner even drives the truck to work on occasion. He mentioned to me that he would not hesitate to drive this truck several hundred miles on a trip.
