1994 Chevrolet Suburban Additional Info:
This is a complete running converted 1994 Chevy Suburban with a 1997.5 Dodge Cummins 6BT diesel engine. All new shocks, leaf springs, clutch, tires (and new rings for the wheels), and brakes this year. Also done was rewiring of the critical electric components, added PIAA driving lights, new steering box and components, radiator, boost hoses, clamps, etc. I also added a Tepui rooftop tent and a road shower rooftop water hose/shower system. It has a new FASS fuel pump and I beleive I still have an extra FASS inside the storage bins. Inside is an electric inverter to use regular power outlets and an audio system with underseat sub and amplifier. Also, has some custom sliding storage bins and a small toolbox with tools and some parts. Outside is a 15,000lb Warn winch and all custom bumpers, exo-cage, and roofrack.
Tires are BF Goodrich Mud Terrain T/A KM2 / Wheels are Raceline Steel 17" All new repairs/replacements have under 200 miles on them.
The transmission is an NV5600, full floating 14-bolt with 4.10 gears and detroit lockerFront axle is Hi-Pinion 6Warn Hubs
There is some rust and the engine burns some oil but no engine oil leaks. There is also a small dent in passenger side door from backing into a short pole - the door functions normally. The odometer and speedometer don't work and the fuel gauge is acting up.
All of the work done since I owned it was done by the guys who built the "Doomsday Diesel" from the Power Diesel magazine. They took what I bought and fixed almost every issue that I had with it.
I am selling it because I am going on the road and I dont want to put it in storage nor do I want to spend the money to continue making it "perfect". I rarely use it and it needs someone with the skills and the space to keep it and use it the way it should.
If I had the $$$ I would have an AC installed (yes the AC pump is still attached) and have the engine rebuilt and add more power. Other than that it runs and the drive is excellent. It still fires up on the 1st or second turn of the key.
Also, yes it is California smog approved and I had it registered. The tags are expired, however.
