1969 Camaro Convertible - Matching Numbers, 3 owner car
I have owned this car for over 8 years and have taken it to many shows and have won several awards for the Camaro. The paint, fit, and finish are excellent. The car was painted with PPG red based on 1998/1999 Chevrolet Camaro. I prefer this red to the original 69 because it is a slightly darker and deeper color than the orange/red color of the 60's. There is no orange peel on this car, the Camaro was professionally wet sanded down after paint and buffed to a sharp clear shine. Even though the paint is 10 years old the car usually has one the best paint jobs at the local shows. But please understand, this is a driver, a car you can get into and drive from the east coast to the west coast without any problems and therefore there are some road chips but you would have to get down on your hands and knees to find them.
I am the third owner and have documentation to show the chain of ownership. The odometer currently reads 65,258 miles and is believed to be true. The car came from southern Tennessee and it is a rust free car with the exception of a small spot under the passenger floor pan. It has not grown at all since I have owned the car and haven't felt the need to address it.
Paint:
The paint on this car is what sales it. A PPG red with a non-clear coat base was applied, at the time around 300.00 per gallon including the reducer and hardener. I have documented pictures of the car taken down to bare metal where you can see that this is a rust free body without filler.
A 1998/1999 Chevrolet Camaro red was used and there are several different flavors of PPG red and this was the good stuff.
Just for your own info, the car was primed in PPG DP40 (two part epoxy and primer) then the body work and blocking was done on top of that.
Car was disassembled when painted, taken down to the bare metal - no dents, no rust to be found.
Striped not sanded, keeps the texture appropriate
Used BPG primer
Convertible Top:The Camaro comes with an almost new manual white top, no tares or rips. Comes with a matching white convertible top boot.
Everything works on the car:
New A/C compressor which runs on modern r134a works as perfectly, windows roll up and down nicely, and convertible top folds into bay with boot cover. Wipers do their job, even though this car never sees a drop of rain.
Stereo:
A RetroSound Audio System was installed to maintain the original look of the car. It is a great stereo with the classic looks but with modern conveniences, remote, etc.
Interior:
Car has white interior, with a white convertible top and boot. I have always chosen convertibles with white interior and even though this interior is 10 years old it is still bright and clean and very presentable. If you are a convertible fan like I am, then you want a white or at least a light colored interior to keep your ride cool. I have had this car in the sun all day long at classic car shows and it stays cool to the touch. While folks with black/dark interior cars have to lay down blankets in order to not burn their legs. The rear seat is also a fold down which is an unusual option for a convertible.
Engine/Transmission:
From what I can read of the serial number the car is matching numbers. The small block 327 has plenty of power to enjoy and makes the car fun to drive. The transmission is a two speed power glide which works flawlessly.
Vehicle Identification Numbers:
1. VIN = 124679N557693
2. Block # = 3932386 (1969, 327 Block)
3. Engine Stamp # = 19N55769 (1=Chevy, 9=1969, N=Norwood Plant, 55769= Production sequence)
. Transmission # = 3863192
Brakes:
Upgraded disk brakes crossed drilled and slotted on all four wheels with all stainless steel lines. Car stops on a dime.
Just a note: While taking pictures of the car I had no less than three different individuals come up to me and say what a beautiful car. You will not be disappointed.
Additional Photo's upon request.
The car is sold as is with no expressed warranty. Please do not solicit me for help in selling the car. I'm also not interested in any trades. I will gladly help with any loading for shipment.
