1951 Chevrolet Other Pickups Additional Info:
I am selling my 1951 Chevy 1 ton dually pick up.This has been driven for the last year and a half and is a daily driver for our shop. The suspension, frame, running gear, and chassis is from a 1979 G30 motorhome. It has new: bearings, seals, brake rotors, brake pads, master cylinder and stops on a dime. It has a new steering box and all components are tight and greased. The tires and rims are new this year and have about 6000 miles on them. It was a dually originally and no frame cutting or modifications have been done, what GM designed and built is what we mounted the cab and bed onto. All rust repair on the cab has been done correctly and looks great. Door and window rubber seals and gaskets and glass is new. Custom rear fenders were built to cover the dual tires, the bed was also shortened to fit the wheel base. The stock look was kept in the interior, original seat was recovered and looks great. The heater and wiper motor are both upgraded to 12 volt along with a complete gm style wiring harness and fuse block. The gauges that match the chassis were custom fitted into the stock 1951 dash and bezels. New carpet and seat belts were also installed, along with a dome light and door switch to turn it on when opened. The fog lights are from the 1950's and fully functional with 12 volt bulbs. The dash also has upgraded power port to charge any accessories, (like cell phone). It has power disc brakes in front and drum in rear. It has a rebuilt 3 speed automatic thm 400 transmission and pretty low gears in the rear end. At 65 to 70 mph the engine rpms are around 3500. The motor is a Mr. Goodrich crate 350ci. and has a mild rv cam in it. The motor has less than 8000 miles on it. all new seals and gaskets so no leaks!! Installed new within the last year: distributor, carburetor, starter, water pump, alternator, all belts and hoses. The radiator has been rebuilt with new style heater core and has double core for more cooling. Two electric fans each operate separately. Stays cool on the hottest days! The bed has white oak in it and has been treated with marine varnish and high gloss. The paint is a few years old and is single stage enamel. It could probably use a good buff and polish. Other things I didn't mention that are new are: steering wheel, wipers, battery, heater core, heavy duty rv shocks, fuel pump, tail lights, tail gate and chains, headlights, all wiring from front to back. Its not a perfect show truck but it did just win a second place at a big local show, its very clean built right. Custom things are front license plate mount, bumpers and brackets to tuck them in close, gas filler on the rear fender, widened rear fenders. Exhaust is 3" from the headers back to stacks that have two baffles in them to reduce the noise.
