Up for sale is a 1966 C10, Custom Trim
General / Body:
This truck has been owned by the current owner for 3 years now and has been a very nice reliable truck. He drives the truck routinely and now has a storage issue so the truck has to go.This truck appears to never have had a single rust repair or patch panel. All of the under side of the truck is rust free! We have many more pictures of inside the fenders, under the cab, and bed. Feel free to contact us for additional photos. The truck is on an original, uncut, short bed frame. The paint and body was done in the past 5-7 years and is in pretty good condition. It is a single stage paint and has a lot of shine to it. There are some imperfections and damage from normal use. You can see in the photos that the drivers door check strap broke and allowed the door and trim to contact the fender. The check strap has been repaired to keep this from happening again. This spot has been touched up with a brush but would need to have the door painted to be perfect. There are also some rock chips and a couple small bubbles on the leading edge of the hood. The passenger side front fender paint color is not a perfect match and would also need to be refinished if you wanted it perfect. Inside the bed there is no rust and the wood floor and stainless is in great condition. You can also see that there is a full side spare installed inside the bed. The inside of the tailgate has some scratches, again from normal use. The tail lamp lenses have also been replaced since the photos were taken. The headlamps are dual LED and are terrific for interstate speed travel at night. The windshield has a small amount of moisture between the layers on the passenger side bottom edge. If you are caught in a hard rain the windshield seal does have a small leak. Also on the drivers door the vent window has a small leak at the top of the seal and creates a small whistle from time to time... we also have photo.
Engine / Drivetrain:
We do not know the all specs of the engine but do have some information on it. It is a very good running 4 bolt main 350 bored .060 over with double hump heads and an aftermarket camshaft. It does have an oil leak where the oil pan meets the timing cover at the front of the engine. It is solid lifter cam with aluminum rockers, hardened pushrods, etc. It has a set of billet valve covers and a chrome air cleaner. It has a Victor Jr intake manifold and a Holley carb. Again, the truck always starts with one pump and has surprisingly good road manners. A Vintage Air AC system was installed a year ago and provides a comfortable climate. The transmission was also upgraded a year ago with a new Chevrolet Performance 4L70E. This is a computer controller 4 speed with a lock-up torque converter. The stall range is 2400-2800 and the rear end gear ratio is 4.11:1 The truck has a very sporty acceleration with the ability to shift into overdrive and lock the converter then cruise 80mph on the interstate. The transmission computer outputs an electronic signal for the speedometer which is them received by a module that spins the factory cable. This allows the factory speedometer to be retained. The truck has electric fans that keep the engine very cool and cycle with the AC system. Oil pressure is great and reads 75psi on cold start then idles at 40psi warm. Joe Gibbs oil has always been used as well as a quality filter. The exhaust system is all custom built with dual Magnaflow mufflers. The entire system was cerakoted to keep some of the corrosion and heat down.
Brakes / Suspension / Wheels & Tires:
Front disc brakes with rear drum brakes are in good working condition and perform terrific. A brake booster and a more modern master cylinder with the corresponding proportioning valve have also been added. The suspension is still factory style, with trailing arms in the rear and coil springs in the front. The rear has a set of lowering blocks installed as well as pinion shims to get the pinion angles correct. This helps set the truck a little more level. The rear also has an adjustable panhard bar to better center the rear end. The wheels and tires were also replaced last year. The wheels are chrome steel wheels from Wheel Vintiques and the tires are BF Goodrich and have 95% tread remaining.
