Up for sale we have a 1967 Chevy Chevelle SS 396. This is a true 138 Vin Super Sport. It underwent a full restoration in 2011 and only has 1200 miles on it since the build. Also, it is a factory Tuxedo Black Car and a factory Four Speed Car. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior, interior, and heartbeat of the Chevy, but first we would like to tell you a little about us.
Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned, operated, and own our entire inventory, no consignments, and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 70 to 80 cars at all times. We don't have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So, that's how we can sell for less than other dealers. To contact us for more information, pictures, or any questions call our office at (865)988-8088 or visit our SmokyMountainTraders website.
We will start off with the exterior of the Chevelle. When restored they pulled it apart and sent the body to be soda blasted. Both rear quarters were replaced to ensure no issues with the build, and they did a great job with fit as you can't tell they have been replaced. Everything is painted in the Tuxedo Black, which is the factory color for this car. The paint on this car has been buffed and polished to a mirror finish that really shows off how straight this car is. At the time of the resto new bumpers were installed along with other new chrome. All new seals were put around the windshield and rear glass. Also, new weather stripping was also installed. The grill and taillights trim all looks like new. To keep the stock look it has a set of Red Line Tires and Rally Wheels with flat centers.
Next, we will look at the interior of the Super Sport. On the inside it's done in Red which is the factory color and provides a killer complement to the exterior. It has the correct bucket seats and console. Also it retains the stock style chrome lock out shifter with chrome knob. Looking at the dash it has the blinker tach and full gauges. This Chevelle also has a tilt wheel and everything on the dash looks stock down to the AM Radio. The chrome bezels around the instruments and radio have been replaced. All of the interior trim is in great condition with a good shine.
Finally, we will take a look at the heartbeat of the Chevy. Under the hood it's powered by a date coded 1967 model 396 that was built when the car was done. We were told that it was bored to 30 over with a mild cam. The engine looks as it would have when it was new. It has the painted cast intake, Holley Carb, Chrome Valve Covers, and Chrome Breather. The sound comes from the Manifolds with dual exhaust and flows. This Chevelle has the 4 Core Stock Style radiator. The trans is a 1967 model Muncie 4 Speed that's mated to a 1967 Model 12 Bolt Rear End with the CX Code. This SS has factory Power Steering and Power Brakes with Disc up front. When you look at the floors they are solid with two patches being done at the time of the resto. All the body bushings and the bushings front and rear in the suspension were replaced.
