This car came from the factory as a Charcoal with Red interior 1958 Corvette optioned with a 283/290hp Fuel Injection engine, 4 speed, positraction, hard top and power convertible soft top. It was restored to a very high level 10-15 years ago and at the time, it was painted black. The car was determined to be too early to be a factory black car and was sent to a restoration shop in Idaho for a color change. The car was to be freshened up and repainted the original Charcoal color. The chassis and drivetrain were restored and it was painted in Charcoal lacquer. For whatever reasons, at that point, the shop was unable to complete the restoration.
This is a very original car, and it is documented. It has a restoration block, but all of the other engine parts are original to the car. It has the original 1958 Borg Warner T-10 4 speed and positraction rear end that it left the factory with. It has an amazing body with all bonding strips intact, I see no signs of any prior damage. This is a project car, but as you can see in the photos, it is very complete. There are also a lot of new parts that come with the car. The Last picture in this listing of the car,is what itlooked like right before it was sent off for the color to be changed back to charcoal.
This will be a very valuable car when finished. It has very desirable options and colors.
I am going to list this car a couple times, then I am going to part it out, starting with the body first. This would make a great resto-mod build.
Buyer is responsible for shipping of car and parts, prefer local pick up.
