1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Custom Additional Info:
This is an ultra rare 1972 Monte Carlo Custom (package that replaced the SS for 1972) W vin 454. Only 1200 454 cars were made in 72 and very few of those had the custom package (most sources say less than 100 454 Customs were built). According to the body tag it is Placer Gold and appears to be original paint (A few places were it chipped the paint is only one layer). This car was in storage for the last 20+ years. The motor and transmission are gone but numbers matching 12 bolt rear with 3.31 gears is still in it. The Custom package which replaced the SS package in 72 includes boxed control arms, rear swaybar, 12 bolt rear end, tons of mood lighting/interior lights, special hubcaps (still in the trunk) special steering wheel, ect. The car will need full quarters due to rust bubbles/holes in very odd places (see pictures) but other than that it’s a very solid car (more pictures available). The trunk lid is rusty but sale includes an immaculate trunk lid. Rockers are spotless inside and out (pictures available). Someone replaced the driver’s side fender with a blue one that has a rust hole but the factory passenger fender is rust free. Trunk floor and wheel housings look great other than a golf ball size hole right next to the trunk latch (pictures available) that can easily be patched or ignored. Floor pans look great from underneath and under the carpet. Only rust spot appears to be a soft ball size spot where something wet was left laying under the driver’s side rear seat but for a nice driver/general show car the floor pans, trunk pan, and wheel houses could absolutely be left as is. I believe the car was special ordered as it’s manual windows and locks but has REAR DEFROST and all of the lights associated with the custom package. This car has a CLEAR TITLE with names of the previous two owners which may aid in tracking down the original drivetrain. This is an ultra rare car that deserves to be restored. I bought it with the intention of extreme customization not realizing what it was until I got it home. I’m not a purist so I want to see this go to someone who will do an original restoration and I’ll purchase a standard Monte Carlo to Customize. I'll also take a trade of a first Gen Monte of equal value. NO RESERVE!! I HAVE SOLD MANY CARS ON EBAY, CHECK MY FEEDBACK!! I try to be as honest as possible so don’t hesitate to ask questions and I have many more pictures it won’t let me post.
