Rust free Short Bed Fleetside

Here is the hard one to find, a 1972 Short-bed Fleetside that is solid and complete, running and driving but needing cosmetic restoration. This North Carolina Truck has a 4-year-old 350 HO Deluxe motor mated to the original 40 Turbo Automatic. The truck runs and drives great with power steering and power brakes. The truck recently went thru our State safety inspection and it is ready to drive anywhere with no known mechanical issues. All gauges, lights, heater and aftermarket radio operate properly.This truck has no serious rust issues beyond some surface rust where the paint is delaminating. There is no rust thru anywhere and wesee no evidence it ever had any. The truck is a change of color fromtwo-tone factory finish to black single color done about 20 years ago we are told.Overall paint is very poor, extremely sun baked and peeling in numerous places. There are numerous paint chips but no real body damage beyond small dents. The bed is solid but and older applied sprayin bed coating is also peeling. Please look good at the photos-this truck is in need of an overall repaint.All trim is intact and glass is good. Panel fit is good and doors operate properly asdoes hood and tailgate.Interior was redone with new carpet and seat upholstery, also done about 20 years ago. It is in fair or slightly better condition.Factory truck 15x8 rally wheels with trim are intact with decent but older tires worn about 50%.These 67-72 Chevy Short Box trucks are gettingincreasingly hard to find in rust-free condition and at an affordable price point for the Hobbyist who wishes to do some of his own restorations.
