1968 Chevrolet Impala Convertible Additional Info:
INTERIOR: The stock interior was in the process of being switched and fabricated using a few donor 1996 Monte Carlo pieces. We converted all the windows to power as well as locks and door poppers to open the doors. The factory handles also work. The seats are from a Chrysler Sebring convertible as well and the driver side is power. I have started to fabricate a front to rear fiberglass center console with a 64 Impala grill in the center. The dash has not been cut; is original and the 2 knob stereo is in works. For the stereo system it was to run off a tablet to control a full custom Powerbass audio components. I will include all the system to the high bidder as well as every interior panel and piece I have. To put it back to stock you would need factory door panels and stock bench seats that are readily available. I was using all the Monte pieces as a mold to lay fiberglass over then body work and make a completely modern interior in a classic car. So much so as the power mirror switches would even make the corner glass move! Most of the fab work is done if you choose to finish this route or like I said put it back to stock.
MOTOR: Very smooth running 327 with 2 speed power glide trans. It shifts really smooth and even though its a carburetor car it starts just by bumping the key. The exhaust is new and quiet as I wanted the stereo system to be loud and the focal point of the build. It has factory power steering and we have added power disc front brakes in front, factory drums in rear. the firewall is painted in gloss black and the brake booster is chrome.
SUSPENSION: It has full tubular upper and lower control arms and the the spring pockets have been trimmed for the car to lay so low it almost hits the cross member. The inner wheel wells have been removed and I do not have them any longer. The back is on air shocks but I have the bags for it, not installed. The battery has been located to the trunk for the stereo system as well as to clean up under the hood as well. The car has half inch air lines up front currently run off shop air with a Schroeder valve to lift it up. I will include all the accessories I use to lift and lay it, but the air ride will need to be finished.
WHEELS AND MISC: The wheels are a 22x9.5 5 bolt KMC Nova. The tires are basically brand new only rolled in and out of the shop. I will include every piece of stereo equipment; 2 15's, 4 channel and mono sub amp, and 2 components and coaxials as well as a ton of other misc stuff you can finish the build with or throw out.
LASTLY: There are a few little rust spots and blemishes that will need to be fixed and are included in the pics. It was an original New Mexico car and lived in the desert its whole life. That was the reason I bought it being super solid and basically rust free. The top was new when I got the car and it has been sitting in my shop its whole life I had owned it. Best of luck in the acution i will answer any questions I can for you... Happy bidding thank you for looking
