1970 Chevrolet El Camino SS Additional Info:
Up for auction is this amazing 1970 Chevrolet El Camino SS 454 re-creation or clone. Every part of the truck was pulled apart and media blasted. Some parts were powder coated and some were painted. Both quarter panels and outer wheel houses were replaced. The passenger quarter panel is NOS new old stock GM as are the outer wheel houses. The drivers side quarter panel is an after market one as we couldn't find NOS at the time. The paint has been polished and wet sanded for a mirror finish.
This truck was just in the BC Classic and Custom car show and it won a 2nd place trophy for best restored 70's muscle car.
This El Camino started out as a 300hp 350 4 barrel, Muncie M20 bench seat 4 speed with 12 bolt 3:31 positraction. It is still a Muncie 4 speed with 3:31 12 bolt posi. As for the big block engine, it's a 1972 402 with a pair of 1967 heads for higher flow. The build of the engine is excellent and it pulls just like a 454. It has a new Holley QFT 780 cfm carb. The Muncie transmission has been gone through with new synchro's etc. The rear end has been pulled apart too with new seals and the axles were checked and fine.
Everything has been built stock except for the high rise aluminum intake and the over sized rims and tires. The rear tires are 12 inches wide. No modification to the body was necessary as the SS rims were offset inward and fit.
For options it has tinted shaded front windshield with antenna, power steering, power disk brakes, 12 bolt 3:31 posi, 4 speed Muncie transmission and a vinyl top. Added options are the SS package which includes the cowl domed hood, large diameter front sway bar, D88 stripes and an after market tachometer. I blasted and powder coated a set of original big block springs as the new after market ones make the vehicles sit too high. So as you can see in the pictures it has a great stance. All the bushings are new and have been replaced. All the front end steering linkages are also new.
The car is located in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada. It is easily shipped anywhere in North America. We will assist with any boarder paperwork as needed.
Upon winning the auction a paypal deposit of $1000.00 is required. The balance can be paid with cash or a wire transfer. Also please feel free to come and look at the car in person. My feed back speaks for itself and I have sold several cars on ebay over the years.
Good luck and happy bidding!
