1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS / SS 396 4 Speed
Documented & Recently Restored
This beautiful Teal Blue RS/SS 396 4-Speed Camaro went through a comprehensive restoration within the last few years and it runs, drives and looks great. This RS/SS coupe is the real McCoy as evidenced by the numbers matching Big Block engine and great original documentation.
The wonderful muscle car is equipped with both the RS & SS Packages, 396/325hp Big Block V8 engine, Dual Exhaust, Power Brakes/Front Disc, Muncie 4-Speed Manual Transmission, 12 Bolt Rear End, Hidden Headlights, Bucket Seats, Center Console, Gauge Pack, Dual Exterior Mirrors, AM Radio, Cragar Wheels with Radial TA’s, Spare Wheel/Tire, Jack and floor/trunk mats.
This nicely restored classic car is part of the Private Newport Autosport Car Collection of Southern California. All pictures were just taken for this listing.
The Camaro comes with the original November 6, 1967 Sales/Order Contract (pictured in the listing) itemizing the options as follows- Super Sport, Rally Sport, 4-Speed Transmission, Disc Brakes, Tinted Windshield, Radio, Center Console and Instrumentation.
According to the Shipping Data Report, the car was produced on 12/05/1967 and the Original Protect-O-Plate (comes with the car) reflects the Number Matching VIN, 12/21/1967 as the delivery date to the same buyer’s/owner’s name as the order contract and that it is an Original 396/325hp Big Block car. The Original Warranty Booklet (pictured) does have the matching VIN punched through the front cover.
The Original Title for the car (copy comes with the car) also reflects the same VIN and buyer/owner with the 12/21/1967 Initial Sale Date. Interestingly, the title also shows that the original owner kept the car for almost 35 years since it states the sale/transfer date of 8/21/02 to the second owner.
The Cowl Tag reflects the following- produced the first week of December (12 A), Teal Blue Paint (L-L), Blue Bucket Seats (717). The engine ID pad verifies that it is a Numbers Matching (16632) Big Block 396/325hp (MW) manufactured in November 1967.
