A factory triple-black 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS with the build sheet to prove it's a real-deal Super Sport. Can this get any better? How about an expert restoration (with about 400 miles on it) to keep this a loaded and correct muscle machine.
Envy is what you're feeling right now, but that's ok. The highly sought-after code 19 Tuxedo Black has been given a full professional respray during its 2009 restoration. The quality application highlights the super straight panels, and it gives the whole car a mirror shine like it was made of black chrome. So of course you're going to feel envious of the appearance, but the good news is this car is up for grabs. So this is your opportunity to create desire in everyone you pass. The black vinyl roof is a factory correct option, which was always one of the best ways to announce a highly optioned coupe. White SS stripes on power bulge cowl hood are a big part of the appeal of the Super Sport model. But this one goes much further to get the details right, like the blacked-out grille, all the correct badging, and the correct SS wheels. Plus, those Firestone Wide Oval tires are another reminder that they really are paying attention to getting this one right. Nice chrome bumpers and polished stainless fender trim help complete a package that looks ready for a weekend's worth of showing or cruising.
The black interior has the same desirable mean and clean attitude as the exterior. The carpets, door panels, headliner, and seats all feel fresh thanks to an investment in making sure this interior was worthy of the triple-black moniker. The dual-spoke SS wheel give you a terrific view of the full round gauge package. Everything looks correct, right down to the AM/FM radio. As mentioned before, we have the build sheet that instructed the Atlanta factory to make this an SS car, but it also will show you it came loaded with great features. This includes air conditioning, which on such a well restored car, is still blowing cold today. So you'll love cruising around with the windows down to show off the hardtop profile.
As a big block factory Chevelle SS, this still has a 396 cubic-inch big block under the hood (the block dates to 1971.) You can tell there was plenty invested in the restoration so that the bold orange motor, bright valve covers, and matching air topper all look like they are radiating power from within the dark engine bay. Plus, the fresh look of the belts, wires, and hoses reminds you one again how little this has traveled since restoration. The mighty V8 inhales deeply through a four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales with authority as headers feed the dual exhaust. And the clean undercarriage gives you a terrific view of the sports suspension that includes sway bars front & rear as well as the fully boxes rear trailing arms. But as much as a Chevelle SS is a wild muscle machine, it has features like power steering, front disc brakes, a limited slip rear end, and a strong TH400 three-speed automatic transmission to keep it quite a nice cruiser.
Complete with owner's manual, service manual, and the all-important build sheet, this is a real-deal triple-black intimidation machine. It will find a new home soon, so you might want to hurry up if it's going to be you. Call now!
