If you simply double click on the main picture of this auction page then all 24 pictures will open up and be able to be viewed in the larger size by clicking the arrows on each side of the larger pictures. This is the first time this Cool Classic Custom Chevy has ever been offered to the public on eBay.
I will explain everything I found out from the previous owner. This Chevy has always been in Texas, so it was never rusted like Midwestern cars. The undercarriage is clean like a Texas car should be. I have a clean and clear Texas title for the lucky winning bidder. All the body panels seem to be original to the car. I did not see any signs of this classic Chevy being involved in any type of accidents. The bumpers were re-chromed and all the chrome is in drivers quality to very good condition. This body style is very sleek and well designed.
This Classic Chevy could actually be used as a daily driver if the new owner desires. This engine is a Chevy 350 that was completely rebuilt and only has what the odometer shows where the gauges were updated to digital. The mileage reads 2182 and the odometer read zero after the rebuild. This 350 Chevy engine has a 4-bolt main and was treated to an Edelbrock high rise aluminum intake manifold with a new Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor. It will need a new accelerator cable for daily driver use, but the gas pedal is still in place. Those can be found at most any parts store, but the car can be driven as it is. The transmission is a rebuilt upgraded 700R4 with overdrive, so it shifts smooth as silk. The entire front end was completely professionally redone with a 79 Camaro sub-frame. The undercarriage fabrication is very impressive. The 65 year old car steers with power steering, stops with power front disc brakes, and basically handles like a dream with all the modern updates. There is also a front sway bar for handling corners like the newer cars. Plus it even has tilt wheel!! The water pump and hoses are new with a new serpentine belt. No expense was spared in making this classic 53 updated to a modernized custom. It has a new updated heating system and the newer style updated ice cold air conditioning system. How cool is that!! Also has rear air shocks with the battery mounted in the trunk. The two-tone paint is drivers quality with custom pinstriping and the cool front sun visor. As per virtually all these older Chevy's there is some minor cracking on the windows, but that gives the new owner the treat of attending their local swap meets. All of the windows are intact though and they all roll up and down. Sometimes the outside door handle sticks. This is not a perfect show car by any stretch of the imagination. It is a very nice looking antique that endless compliments will be in store for the fortunate winning bidder. This car sounds great with the newer dual exhaust system with chrome tips.
The interior is all custom and very comfortable. An exorbitant amount of time, money, and effort went into making this Chevy what it is. Just the headliner needs to be finished and some kick panels added. The roof insulation for the bubbletop is already in place, so that should be a relatively easy job to do. There is a new set of four dark blue deluxe carpetedfloor mats. As seen by the pictures the dash looks in very nice condition. There is a hook up for I-phones and Android to stream the music of your choice with four Sony speakers and a 400 power watt amp.
The Nada Classic Car Price Guide currently has the 1953 Chevrolet Bel-Air Sport Coupe Hardtop listed at $45,000 in high condition, which theyconsider an excellent overall vehicle that was completely restored, or an original vehicle showing very minimal wear. Note: This value does not represent a 100 point show car or a #1 vehicle. Those vehicles can reach much higher prices.
Nada has the average condition value at $19,400 which theyconsider in good overall condition that could be an older restoration or a well maintained original vehicle that is completely operable. The exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are presentable and serviceable inside and out. They say an average condition car is considered a20-Footer! The numbers don't lie! This 1953 Chevy is an extremelyvaluable classic automobile with the classic stance of a 50's style muscle car. I feel this Chevy is in much better than average condition in my opinion, although it will sell for wherever the winning bid is at on Sunday evening.
Whatever this classic one of a kind sells for in this quick 3-day "No Reserve" auction is a win/win investment. A complete brand new flame throwing system has been hooked up to the dual exhaust. I never learned how to fire those babies up, but whoever gets this classic should easily be able to figure it out on line. both spark plugs in the pipes are igniting, and the switch is mounted on the dash, so someone out there should know how to light em up. This is your chance to be a big hit at the local car shows.
There is a 10-bolt rear end, but I am not aware of the ratio. There are a set of four Firestone Firehawk Raised White Lettered Tires with nice tread mounted on a set of four Chevy Rally wheels with all four beauty trim rings and all four center caps.
This Chevrolet is an investment that I believe will continue to rise as these Bel-Air Non-Post Cars haveconsistently shown to escalate in value with each quarter. Here is a prime opportunity to acquire your dream car at a nominal price. This description may be a little long winded, but everything was described as accurately as possible, so every potential bidder can make the most informed decision prior to confidently placing their bids.If you feel anything may have been left out please ask as many questions as you like. They will be answered in a timely fashion.
This Classic Chevy is being stored at my buddy's house in Kenosha, Wisconsin just over the Illinois/Wisconsin border and will need to be picked up or transported from there.
