There is a certain beauty in honesty, especially when it comes to this 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS convertible. It's a real-deal Rally Sport, with a correct V8 heart, and a real period-correct vibe all around. When you see the originality and desirable factory appearance, you'll realize this is that interesting classic drop top you've been waiting for. It's hard not to get excited when you see the first year ever for a Camaro, an it's presented in the bold and... factory-correct code R2 Bolero Red. It was the exact right way to announce to the world that this car was a Mustang hunter when it was released. This one has all the right hints of aggression with the unmistakable RS-package concealing the headlights (remember this is the only year for the factory electrically-operated door.) The sunshine-friendly droptop has plenty of luster in the paint, and there is even evidence that this is the original paint to the car - highlighting the quality care this one has received over the decades. Speaking of shine, these '67s had some great brightwork. So it's great to see it complete in places like the thin bumpers, fender surrounds, and rocker panels that give this convertible an almost seamless lower trim profile. Plus, no iconic Camaro would be complete without classic Rally wheels. The finishing touch is a set of red line tires that coordinate so well with the paint to create an instantly attractive package. The white roof looks great on this Camaro. Not only does it have a nice presence when in place, but when you fold it down, the white boot cover coordinates with the white streak on the deluxe trim. It's all part of a well-coordinated total package. The low-back bucket seats look great, so you know this was never neglected in the sunshine with the top down. In between is the desirable center console that includes the gearshift. Above that are the heat/defrost sliders and an upgraded AM/FM/cassette stereo with digital tuner - but its knob-style setup makes it look right at home in this '67 (the sale even comes with the correct AM radio for those who want pure authenticity.) You slip behind the original RS wheel, and look at the factory gauge arrangement set in the European-inspired dual pod design. Yes, this car is that cool. Under the hood is Chevrolet's trusty and powerful 327 cubic-inch V8. It's dressed nicely with Chevy orange paint on the block, intake, and valve covers. No outrageous add-ons, just the cool factory-style 327 stickers in a package with tidy presentation and newer components like the distributor and brake booster. So if you've seen too many Camaros that get too wild with their engine bays, an exceptionally honest and well-presented one like this will get you excited. This kind of good maintenance means it fires up with ease and runs like a good small-block should. Add in the Powerglide automatic transmission, power steering, and front disc brakes, and this makes it an easy choice for weekend cruising. Complete with owner's manual, here's a first-year Camaro RS that has a great look and drives even better. We know this high level of originality is the kind of package will never go out of style, which is why we know this Camaro will be leaving our showroom soon. Call now!
