If you're looking for a clean second-gen Camaro that you can drive without worries, this 1970 Chevrolet Camaro RS is an awesome choice. Finished in brilliant Cranberry Red paint, it also features a muscular 350, factory A/C, and enough performance to make it plenty interesting on the street.
The body was professionally refinished several years ago, and all of the metalwork is professionally done with a seamless blend of old and new components. It's been nicely maintained while someone was having fun with it, and the result is that it's still great to look at. The addition of a tall cowl induction hood certainly helps with the aggressive look, along with the factory chin spoiler and ducktail spoiler out back that's especially striking on the sleek second-gen bodywork. White stripes are certainly appropriate and it has the power to back it up, so get out and drive. And while there are a few touch ups here and there, you can shine it up, throw a coat of wax on it this Saturday, and you're ready to cruise. Up front there's a correct blacked-out grille flanked by stylish bumperettes and round parking lights, while out back four round taillights with chrome rings make the second-generation Camaro instantly recognizable from a distance.
A mixture of original equipment with a few upgrades greets you inside. The black buckets have been fully restored with new covers, which match the door panels perfectly. Excellent carpets make it look showroom fresh, and the dash pad is unblemished. Upgrades include the modern gauges in the original instrument panel, a custom AM/FM/CD stereo in the original slot in the dash, and a trio of auxiliary dials neatly installed underneath. A center console is always a nice perk, especially with a horseshoe shifter, and this car includes cold factory A/C that's perfect for summertime fun. Under that cool deck lid spoiler is a super solid trunk that only needs a fresh mat to look right.
The engine is a built 350 cubic inch V8 that pulls the relatively lightweight F-body around with real authority. At a glance it might look fairly stock, but if you look closely, you'll find aluminum heads, an Edelbrock carburetor and intake manifold, an upgrade cam, a few chrome dress-up pieces. It starts quickly and runs beautifully, which shouldn't be a surprise for a small-block-equipped Camaro, and it's proof that you don't need a Z/28 to have performance that'll scare your girlfriend on the street. Recent Flowmaster mufflers make it sound fast, even at idle, and while you're under there, please note that the subframe and suspension have been powdercoated so it'll look great forever. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission channels power back to a sturdy 12-bolt rear end with 3.73 gears on a Posi, so it's plenty punchy on the street. Finally, it rolls on a set of handsome 17-inch Torque Thrusts and 245/45/17 front and 275/40/17 rear performance radials.
Someone spent an awful lot of money on this RS, endowing it with some smart and practically invisible upgrades that pay big dividends on the street. The engine revs easily and the rest of the driveline is virtually bulletproof, so it has a lot of fun left in it. Add in the dazzling bodywork and handsome interior, and it makes this F-body worth considerably more than the sum of its parts. Call now!
