Nothing brings you back to 1955 quite like Chevy's top of the line Bel Air, and this one is a real head turner in its two-tone paint with tons of chrome. Although Disneyland in California might too, because it opened the year this car was built. Maybe, just for fun, you could drive this car out to the park. For old times sake.
A big chrome bumper, and a rocket on the hood lead the way. In between is an egg-crate grill with its own share of chrome surrounding it, flanked by headlights and marker lights. The paint really shines and looks like new thanks to a quality midlife basecoat/clearcoat repaint. As your eye follows down the side of the car, you notice that the body lines are nice and straight and the door gaps are nice and even. Starting at the rear fender, the paint switches to two-tone with white that also coats the roof. The brightwork continues along the midline, and also with a bold strip of it starting at the front fender and running along the rocker panel. The back of the car ties things up nicely in white with a Chevy emblem in the center of the trunk, and taillights on the tops of the fenders, along with another big chrome bumper.
The interior mirrors the two-tone treatment of the body. Open the door and you are greeted by a white pleated door panel upper and arm rest, with an orange lower panel. The seats are very comfortable in leather with white pleated centers with orange surrounds and white piping. A white headliner has chrome stays for an awesome look and black carpets provide a nice contrast. There is an orange, 3-spoke, steering wheel mounted on a tilt column. Look through it and check out the white-faced gauges sitting in their wedge-shaped pod, and the aluminum panel with embossed Chevy emblems that extends across the dash. In that panel you will find the Vintage Air heating and A/C controls as well as the radio that pumps sound out through speakers under the dash and in the rear shelf. Another wedge sits in front of the passenger proudly announcing that it is a Bel Air. And for an extra treat, don't forget to check out the trunk which is trimmed out as nicely as the rest of the interior.
Pop the hood and you will find a neat and clean engine compartment with a tried and true Chevy 350 just waiting to get you where you want to go in style. The engine shines bright with a chrome air topper which sits on top of a Holley 4 bbl carb and a polished hi-rise intake. A Pro Comp ignitions system handles the spark and a serpentine belt system drives everything. There are polished valve covers, and a chromed A/C compressor. There is yet more chrome as the master cylinder and brake booster working front disc brakes received their treatment too. Long tube headers lead out to a dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers and it sounds sweet. An aluminum radiator keeps everything cool and the power is sent back through a 4-speed overdrive trans to the 255/45ZR18 rear tires. The front suspension is a control arm and coil spring setup working through 215/55R17s.
A great looking, great driving car with lots of sparkling chrome. Come on down and see for yourself. You might decide to take it home and start packing for a trip to Disney.
