If you like chrome on a car, and you like it to shine bright, then you should check out this ride. If you are looking for a family cruiser, something to head out to get ice cream in, then you should check out this ride. For the price of new, basic, cookie cutter car, you could be driving this good looking, fun and functional classic.
Red and white is such a nice color combination on this car. The white is bright and clean. The red is fun and a little sassy. It provides a nice foundation and contrast to show off the great chrome on this car. A wonderfully large bumper with two big guards perched proudly on top lead the way. Just above that is an eggcrate grill with the top edge worked in with the leading edge of the hood. A nice red, white, and blue Chevrolet emblem sits between two headlights which are set into the fenders, and that Rocket on the hood just tops off the whole front end. The back is similar, with a big 'ol chrome bumper and trim around the lights, but adds a couple nice exhaust tips to the mix. On the side there is bright rocker trim, a chrome spat protecting the front fender, and chrome trim dividing the red from the white. Finishing off the look perfectly are steel wheels with polished trim rings and center caps.
The interior is classic 50s. Open the door, any one of the four of them, and you are greeted by a nice gray and white door panel. Big bench seats front and rear offer lots of room to move around and lots of leg and headroom. They are upholstered in white vinyl with grey cloth inserts, and almost remind you of a saddle shoe with the pattern. The black carpeting and white headliner might add to that effect too. Check out that black steering wheel with the big circular chrome horn ring. Sweet! The dash is stylish and dressed out nicely with a tach added to the steering column, and oil, water, and voltage gauges added under the dash next to the air conditioning vents. The AM/FM radio cassette player has speakers in the back shelf driven by a Kenwood amp in the trunk. And that trunk is huge! Great for family vacations, or piles of sports equipment, or whatever else you can think of.
Pop the hood and you will find a neat and clean engine compartment with a tried and true Chevy 350 just waiting to get you where you want to go in style. An Edelbrock intake and carb sit just under an Edelbrock air filter housing to help this motor breathe in. Long tube headers help it breathe out and lead out to cherry bomb mufflers and then to those turned down exhaust tips to make nice music for your ears. An electric fan keeps things cool and chrome bowtie valve covers, as well as a chrome alternator, add a splash of flash to the look. A 3-speed automatic transmission gets the power headed back to the rear wheels. The front suspension is a control arm and coil spring setup, with a sway bar added to help flatten the cornering out a bit and improve the handling. The rear wheels have leaf springs and air shocks. 215/65R15 tires all around on those rally wheels get the job done as you roll down the road.
A great looking, great driving car with lots of sparkling chrome. Come on down and see for yourself. Maybe you will end up taking it home and then out to get some ice cream.
