Hi Guys, Rich at The Mustang Ranch here in Golden, Colorado. My client has asked me to sell for him one of his personal cars. This 1981 Chevrolet Corvette vin #1G1AY8762BS422826 with 76,300 miles still retains it numbers matching motor and transmission. Back in 2008 this Vette went through just short of a rotisserie restoration. The original motor was machined and fitted with C&C Motorsports 427 Stroker kit. Polished and ported heads and matched to the intake manifold as well as having all of the other internal and external components replaced. The Warner 4 speed was rebuilt and a performance clutch was installed. Stainless steel headers and side pipes with out the catalytic converters give it a nice sound. Moderately quiet at lower rpms and much louder when you step into it. Over $16,000 was spent on the drive train rebuild. The paint was redone in its original #19 Black. A great effort was placed into smoothing out the fiberglass body and getting the lines/ gaps to match up, better than the factory. I was told that over $18,000 was spent on the custom body/ paint/ Shark mural and chrome work. Front/ rear suspension, brakes, drive axels, wheel bearings and other components were replaced. The interior is mostly original and shows a little ware in the normal places. Everything works, wipers/ headlights/ turn signals/ Kenwood stereo and power windows. The original wheels were reconditioned and new BFG 225/60/15's were installed. The AC is all in tact but will need a recharge. The Carburetor was just rebuilt after being in storage for a couple of years. We estimate about 10,000 miles since the rebuild.
The engine starts right, up no noises/ smoke or leaks. The transmission/ clutch engages in all forward/ reverse gears smooth. I have this Vette out for a drive and it has great acceleration and power. She is totally road worthy! There are some small chips and scratches but nothing catastrophic. She could use a spring cleaning before putting into service. There is no guarantee or warranty on this C-3 so please call and ask as many questions as you like.
