1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Super Sport Additional Info:
History The Chevrolet Monte Carlo is a two-door coupe manufactured and marketed by Chevrolet from 1970 to 2007 model years encompassing six generations. The car was named for the city Monte Carlo in the Principality of Monaco, specifically the ward of Monte Carlo/Spélugues. The first four generations of the Monte Carlo were of a rear-wheel-drive, V8-powered coupe design, utilizing body-on-frame construction. The SS model was reintroduced from mid-1983 to 1988 with a 305 cu in V8. Why This Car Is Special For 1986, there were four distinct body styles available. The base model Sport Coupe was still available with the same general body panels that it had since 1981, but featured new "aero" side mirrors similar to those on Camaros and Chevrolet Corvette of the 1980s. The White 1986 Super Sport model that we have here at Skyway Classics incorporated the "aero" mirrors, yet still utilized the prior year's styling for the rear bumper. It has 71,869 actual miles, has a clean title check, and has been a Florida car its whole life. Mechanical Specs It has a Crate Chevrolet 350 cubic inch V8 engine with over 325 horse via an Edelbrock intake manifold, Edlebrock 4 barrel carburetor with electric choke, a favorite of mine- gear drive timing set, chrome valve covers, air cleaner, thermostat housing, and dipstick. Besides the engine and transmission being new, so is the battery, power steering pump, and the brakes. Interior The interior features dark red bucket seats with a center console, cold blowing A/C, power steering, power brakes, tilt steering wheel, power windows, power locks, remote mirrors, B&M floor shifter, and more. Exterior This is a real Monte Carlo SS, not a clone. It rides on good radial tires and Weld aluminum wheels and has a great suspension and exhaust note coming out the rear dual exhausts. There is even a car cover in the trunk. Conclusion The 1986 Monte Carlo SS we have here at Skyway Classics is a great piece of Chevrolet muscle car history, and ours is even better with the performance upgrades it has. It is now more like it should have been and drives and feels much better than when it was new in 1986. So give us a call at 941-254-6608. We also finance!
