Up for sale is our stunning 62 Bel Air 409. This American icon has undergone a comprehensive rotisserie restoration to concourse standards. With well over $100,000 spent, it is one of the finest 62 Bel Air’s on the market today. The restoration was completed last year and has 100 break-in miles.
The body and paint work were done by a well-known shop that does show quality work. The body panels are laser straight and the paint is polished to a mirror shine. All the stainless and aluminum trim is either restored to perfection or new. The chrome plating is also re-finished to show quality. The glass, window felts and seals are all new with the side glass rolling up and down very smoothly.
The interior is trimmed using all correct materials and are exact to the original look and feel. The dash is highly detailed with all lights, gauges, and switches working as new. The shifter is the correct “spaghetti” type handle with the small 4-speed ball. For nostalgic, a Sun tach is mounted to the column. Every detail on the interior is beautiful and period correct.
Under the hood is the most impressive…. A Pro-Built, 409 dual quad big block! This engine was built by a seasoned engine builder who used nothing but the finest parts available. The heads are new Edelbrock aluminum high performance heads which are matched to an Edelbrock dual quad intake and carbeurators. Upgraded ignition and fuel delivery components for modern performance were also utilized. It runs perfect and makes way more power than a standard 425hp 409 from ’62 and is also very dependable and street able. The transmission is a correct dated T-10 along with a 62 dated “P” posi-traction 4.11:1 rear differential.
The undercarriage is very accurately restored with red oxide floor pans, chassis finishes (upgraded to powder coat) and natural color springs/tie rods etc. The engine compartment and underneath looks great and is show quality.
The wheels are the originals with correct poverty caps and bias ply tires. Every detail has been done to this car right down to a original style “tar top” battery.
When driving this car its very tight and smooth as expected with a restoration done to this level. Everything works and trust me when I say its fast! Its truly a thrill to drive and takes you back to ’62 all over again.
This car does not retain its numbers matching engine. The VIN is a true V-8 car and the title is a current and clear Colorado title ready to reassign ownership.
I have been a eBay member since 2000 with 100% feedback.
