This is a very cool gasser that was built for the street, but would also be fun to take to nostalgia racing events. The overall build is very well done with a lot of attention to detail. Weldswere all done by a professional welder. The body is all steel with a nicely done chopped top and a fiberglasstill front end and fiberglass rear fenders. The grille is steel. Front end tilts open very easily with just one person and just one hand. The paint is very nice and the flames are real paint. The interior is just basic gasser. No headliner or carpet. All glass is realglass and the door glass rolls up and down like it should. The trunk had a power operating system that I took out, but I did keep it. I just was not comfortable having an electric trunk operator with no access to the rear area frominside the car. All lights work. The front blinkers are in the headlights. Wipers donot work. Horn works. Emergency brake works. B&M shifter. Disc brakes up front with line lock. Rears are drums. Allbrakes are new. New Speedway front straightaxle. 9" Ford rear end with the heavy duty "N" casehousing and running a 4:56 Posi unit. Rear suspension is a Alston back half ladder bar set up with coil over shocks. Wheels are vintage 15x4 slots with new tires up front and new Goodyear 10:00 x 15 pie crust slicks on 15x10 slots on the back. Engine is afreshly rebuilt427 Big Block Chevy ( A de-stroked 454 ) with a new 850cfmHolley, Milodon 8 quart oil pan, LS 5 large oval port heads, nice lumpy cam, etc. and it runs great on premium pump gas. Probably in the 400 - 450 HP range. Transis a rebuilt 400 turbo with a shift kit and standard torque converter. Custom made ceramic coated headers lead into side pipes with mufflerinserts that can be taken out. Sounds really good with them in though. Lots of cam lope. All new wiring. Vega steering box. New Battery.
Again, this is a quality build and a very nice gasser that you can drive to the local car cruise, or take to the track, and make it back homewith no issues. It is a very reliableand street friendly car and one that you will not have to worry about someone elsehavingone like it at the cruise night. ( Like atri-five Chevy )
On top of that, 37 Chevys are one of the most sought after gasser body styles out there and a whole lot less to purchase one than a Willys.
Again, call me at 314-732-5925 before you hit the enter key for honest answers to your questions.
