Check out all the details and specifications on this 1965 Corvette and make your highest bid - this car will sell to the highest bidder.
This 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible has undergone a comprehensive ground-up restoration and is finished in its original-and-rare factory Silver Pearl paint with a black convertible top and red vinyl interior.
The second generation was the shortest production generation in the Corvette bloodline and ran a mere five years.
The second-generation Corvette was designed by Larry Shinoda with major influence coming from a previous concept car called the Q Corvette, which was designed by Peter Brock and Chuck Pohlmann under direction from Bill Mitchell.
The midyear Corvette was smaller, more powerful and more nimble than the first Corvettes, and it featured the first Corvette coupe and now-iconic tapered rear deck.
This generation also brought with it the "Stingray" name, as well as hidden headlights, non-functioning hood vents and independent rear suspension.
New options introduced for 1965 included 4-wheel disc brakes, the big-block engine option and a telescopic steering column.
THIS CAR........
This rare factory color combination is accented by chromed front and rear bumpers, factory side pipes and BF Goodrich Silvertown goldline tires mounted on knock-off wheels.
The red interior is in magnificent condition, and it features the rare heater and radio-delete option, a Hurst shifter, roll-down windows and plenty of chrome accents. All the gauges wotk as they should including the clock which still has a mechanical movement not the quartz movement which is incorrect as per NCRS judging manuals.
It also has the correct big block 80# oil pressure gauge and high horse 6500 rpm tach.
The exterior paint is very presentable, it has a few flaws and touch ups but hardly noticeable unless you look closely.
The glass is all very nice other than the passenger vent glass which has some scratches.
The convertible soft top is in great condition and goes up and down with ease.
The car is equipped to be lean and go fast; the engine is no exception. The car is powered by the new-for-1965 396/425 HP big-block V-8 engine.
The introduction of this formidable engine would mark the beginning of the end for the Rochester fuel-injection system previously utilized by Chevrolet.
The big-block is topped by a 4-barrel carburetor, a Winters aluminum intake and is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission with a console-mounted Hurst shifter.
This 1965 Corvette Convertible is a true performance machine that has been brought back to its original glory and is accompanied with an NCRS shipping-data report.
