If you are looking for a Verified, Real Deal Chevrolet collectible, then your search is over. This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS 396ci V8 left the factory as one of the most sought after F-bodys of all time - A L78, 375hp 396ci V8 with a M-22 4-speed and a 12-bolt rear end. 50 years later and this Muscle Car sits today in incredible shape with its Numbers Matching engine and Numbers Matching Transmission still present and powering the vehicle. Verified... with the MacNeish report that states exactly what is OEM and what isn't, the biggest change from factory is somewhere along the way someone painted the original British Green Camaro a gorgeous shade of Tuxedo Black. Which, if you are going to change a color, the black is a welcome addition. The black paint does show very well, we would grade it 7-8 out of 10. It is closer to 10 years or so old, so you do have a few minor driver flaws that are typical with the age. It still shows very well, and nothing that you would be ashamed to show off at your local car show. The interior is still correct to factory. Deluxe black and white houndstooth bucket seats still are present. The dash and steering wheel look to be original because of the minor crack in both. Everything from the inside works the way its suppose to and that M22 Rock Crusher is a blast to rifle through the gears with. Lift up the hood and you'll see the 396ci 375hp big block stuffed in the engine bay. According to MacNeish, only 4,575 L78 Camaros were built in 1968. Many parts are original in the engine bay and many have been changed over the years. For instance, the incorrect hose clamps are on the car and the brake booster has been changed (the original is included with a few assorted parts in the sale.) Ultimately the engine bay has an original style look, so if someone wanted to take it to the next level to increase it's originality there's a few things that could be done. However, the engine fires up easily, has a great sound and has plenty of power on tap. Underneath, you won't find any surprises, MacNeish had the following to say about the floors - "Very good original floors, no rust, minor floor dents in rear section of floor pans." Priced right and to sell, don't miss out on your chance to own this collectible. Call today!!
