1966 Chevrolet Impala Additional Info:
Alright, let's address the white elephant in the room. We all wish that an Impala found in this condition could be a specially ordered 435 HP-427ci. 4-Speed convertible that was only driven to the drag strip on weekends by a little old lady, right?... But it's not. Let's forget about what the car is not and take a moment to appreciate what the car is. You are looking at an absolute time capsule! An unbelievably preserved machine whose lack of aging is only paralleled by Raquel Welch and Christie Brinkley. Originally built in the Los Angeles California plant, this car continued to reside in sunny dry California, being preserved by it's original owner until 2011 when he passed away. This car is 100% rust free!! The Original owner maintained this heavy Chevy meticulously and only clocked 11,000 miles on the odometer in the 45 years that he owned it. It was then shipped to Illinois where it currently resides today. The odometer has slowly inched its way up to 15,571 miles since then and has always been kept indoors away from inclement weather. This is one of the most honest and original cars that I have ever laid eyes on. Sitting in the driver's seat of this car is the closest you can come to being in a 1966 Chevrolet dealership in 2018. The hood, trunk, and doors shut as crisp as a bank vault! I will describe this car as accurately and honestly as possible. The condition of this machine is amazing although it is not perfect. The paint is 100% original and still presents itself great, although there are a small amount of chips, dings, and discoloration in certain areas. Do not get me wrong, the paint is by no means in the "patina" category of collector cars, but I do not want to mislead anyone into believing that it is perfect. The dashboard also has one small crack, courtesy of the California sun. The interior and trunk compartment are absolute museum pieces. All lights are in working order and the upholstery is in superb condition! Driving this car is as close as you will ever get to time travel without a flux-capacitor. Literally, one pump of the accelerator and a touch of the key brings the glass-smooth running 250 c.i inline 6 to life. Using only three words to describe the way that this car travels down the road, it's smooth, tight, and quiet. It's like sitting behind the wheel of a 20 foot electric golf cart that is capable of highway speeds. As the years progress, time capsules such as this example are getting harder and harder to find. Bid with confidence knowing that your investment will be safe in this museum piece! Any questions, please call me directly at 612-757-0638. The vehicle is listed for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Thanks!!
