There's little argument that the '67 Corvette is the most popular of the mid-years and one of the best Corvettes ever built! This was the last year for the body style. It technically wasn't even supposed to exist! The C-3, or Shark bodied Corvette was due to make its debut in '67, but it wasn't quite ready to be released to a very anxious buying public. So it was decided to extend the mid-year body into '67. As a result, it was refined just enough to make it a legend! Funny thing was, many '67's languished in dealer showrooms as most decided to wait for the new third generation to arrive. Hindsight sure is 20/20. Especially in the case of the '67's!
As values for vintage Corvettes continue to climb, many buyers choose to drive their cars very sparingly, if at all. We think that's a shame. Sure, it's nice to take your Corvette out to a show 'n shine or an occasional N.C.R.S. event and show it off. But to truly enjoy these cars, you need to get behind the wheel and really DRIVE THEM!!. Which leads us to the Marlboro Maroon example presented here.
When we first acquired this '67 a number of years ago, it was basically an untouched original in beautiful condition. When we sold it to the previous owner, he appreciated its survivor status, but his intention was to drive it on a semi-regular basis. And he wanted some creature comforts. So there were a number of items added to the car to make it a great and very comfortable daily driver! Such as, Vintage a/c, p/b, p/s, a Hurst shifter for more precise shifting, an upgraded audio system w/iPod adapter, red line tires wrapped around Bolt on wheels and in the interest of excellent noise pollution; a set of factory looking side exhaust! The paint was then nicely detailed and a new Black soft top was installed. What we now have is the perfect mid-year driver that you could take anywhere and enjoy every day, if desired. And why wouldn’t you?
