1968 Triple Black Corvette Convertible

Rare and real Tuxedo Black 327/350 hp L79 option four speed manual transmission convertible Corvette. One of 708 black Corvettes made out of over 32,000 in 1968. Early VIN number built in late 1967. 79,877 original miles on this two owner, numbers matching vehicle.

You will see many black Corvettes for sale, few of which are original color code from the factory. This is a well documented, survivor car that is a good driver but not a trailer queen. A great candidate for certified (Bloomington, etc) restoration if you want to make it one of the finest 1968 examples available.

Bought in Kentucky in late 1967 and garage kept in Texas since 2005. This car is by no means perfect but is a survivor car. Driven less than 400 miles in the last decade. The original owner reported one engine rebuild and re-paint and no collisions. Non original parts known are the carburetor, air cleaner, rotors, new convertible top, new Bilstein shocks, and miscellaneous cosmetic parts such as visor shades and shift plate. Numbers on transmission and block match vin and proper date codes.

The only L79 Triple Black Convertible Corvette I could find in recent auctions went for $41,500. Asking a very reasonable $35,000 as I have to make room in the garage for kid’s cars. This is a stunning and beautiful classic that I hate to part ways with but it is time.
