You are bidding on a very early production 1954 Corvette Convertible in Polo White over Sportsman Red interior. It remains exactly as it left the factory in 1954. In fact this is an excellent condition 3 owner low mileage car that has been selectively restored to factory specifications. Provenance documented as well with a letter from the original owner. This is a highly desirable collector quality corvette that you would be proud to drive or show.
This particular corvette is the 150th produced in the1954 model year and along with the1953's, making it one of the most sought after. In fact it makes it one of the first 500 corvettes EVER produced. It has all of the production differences to the later cars like multi hood latches, bullet air inletsand chrome valve cover instead of painted. It is in extremely good overall condition. It was also painstakingly prepared by the previous owner for Bloomington Gold certification. It is not a fresh restoration but an older restoration that shows like it has been recently done. Photos of the car are included as it was found and purchased from the original owner and prior to any restoration work. Mileage also presumed to be original.
The exterior of the car (paint, chrome and glass) are all in fantastic condition. Paint and chrome both shine like a new penny but have as well a blemish here or there. Most noteworthy being the paint has some very smallbumpsacross the front and down both sides. Not significant enough to show in a photo however.
The interior of the car (seats, cockpit, carpet, door panels and dash) are also in very good condition having been replaced during the restoration work a few years previously.
Mechanically the car runs and drives very well. Starts easily, idles great and sounds very nice. Engine compartment is completely detailed and you can be confident in knowing that it is ready for the road. Powerglide transmission and brakes are all working exactly as they should.
As can be seen in the photos, it comes as well with an essentially new top, side curtains and even an extremely rare and hard to find period correct hard top. Convertible top has perfect cloth and clear flawless glass. Side curtains are clear and in near new condition.
