1988 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 K2500 Additional Info:
New motor from Town & Country Salvage installed 1/8/16, 101K miles, 5.7L V8 350HP.
Total mileage 140k, but only 25 miles or so on new motor.
Fantastic heat and A/C. Cruise control.
Maintenance/repair/investment:
New motor, idler arm, pitman arm, upper/lower ball joints, starter, alternator, oil sending unit, radiator, fuel injection motor, plug wires, tires, battery, headlight switch, dimmer switch, turn signal/wiper switch, fresh oil, re-wired radio harness.
Issues truck has:
-Small crack in windshield in UV on driver's side (walnut fell onto it). Not in line of sight, I never cared to replace it.
-20" scratch in body on passenger side above rear wheel well. Previous owner scraped up against a tree apparently.
-Glove box closes normally, but will fall off when you open it. Missing a small hinge piece in lower left corner.
-small plastic connection piece on back of turn signal switch is broken/missing. Previous owner broke it, i never fixed it. I just toggle between high/low beams by pushing a little lever under steering column, behind the new switch. Works just fine.
-Needs new washer fluid pump motor installed. I've already purchased it. Just needs installed.
-Gas gauge floats. Never bothered me, I just reset odometer when I get gas.
This has never been a full time commuter for me. Just a fishing, camping, wood hauling, bed/dresser/couch - moving kind of a vehicle for us. I'm only selling it because our family is growing and I simply don't take it out as much as I used to.
Runs wonderfully. Always been a great truck for me. Hope to see someone else enjoy it as much as I did.
