1972 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE EL CAMINO - 307ci V8 ENGINE - 3-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION(NICE DRIVER!!)
This is a nice driving 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle El Camino with a 307ci V-8 engine and 3-speed (turbo 350) automatic transmission. V.I.N. #1D8UF2B554600 and is it has a clear Pennsylvania title. Everything is basically stock on the El Camino including the engine with the only known addition being dual exhaust. The odometer currently shows around 74,885 miles on it though since I still drive it on occasion that may be slightly higher at time of purchase. I believe that it actually has 174,885 miles on it since the previous owner kept very detailed records that indicate such. I am not sure of any work ever done to the engine but I would suspect it must have common things like the timing chain, etc. replaced at some point. It has the factory AM/FM radio that works good. It seems to run, drive, and shift well but I’m sure it has some oil leaks and may need some maintenance from age. The fuel gauge does not seem to be working correctly. It is currently Pennsylvania inspected until 05/18. The tires are all very nice and appear to have been new just a short time ago. It comes with the original manuals including the original window sticker when it was purchased new all still in the glove box. The black interior is in good condition especially considering its age. The bench seat is in great condition though I do not know if it was ever redone. Everything else about the interior is definitely completely original. The dash pad does have a typical sun crack and the steering wheel does have a few small splits but nothing too major. All in all the interior needs nothing if you are looking for a nice driver. The car or truck depending on how you look at it has been completely repainted at least one time in its life and I suspect also had some body work done to it as well. All in all the car is pretty solid though it does has some bubbles and possible small rust spots showing around the common areas, very bottom of fenders, front and rear wheel opening edges by trim, bottom of doors and edges, a small spot near the drivers side mirror, etc, along with the worst in my opinion being a larger rust hole inside the bed on the right side wheel well. The underneath seems pretty good and solid from what I can tell but I’m sure there could be some rust in common spots that I can’t see but since it was always garage keep most of its life it stayed pretty good. The paint shows imperfections, scratches, bubbles, marks but over all presents well enough for a great driver. There are some very light paint bubbles on the rear roof pillar most likely from some moisture when it was painted. The right side rear quarter panel does appear to have been repaired and repainted at a different time and is a green shade of color off. The moldings and trim show all the small dents and marks associated with a vehicle that 45 years old. This El Camino is great to drive and use just as it is and like I have been doing or would make a great candidate for a complete restoration to any level if you so desired. I have been driving it on a pretty regular basis over the past few months and have not had to really do anything to it. I have tried to describe what I know about it but please use the pictures to determine the condition for yourself or if you truly want to evaluate it I recommend that you setup a time to come check it out in person. This is a 45-year old used vehicle that is being sold as-is where-is with no warranty (no exceptions). Local pickup only and buyer is responsible for making any and all transportation arrangements. A $500.00 PayPal deposit is required within 24-hours and full payment is required within 72-hours of online purchase (sorry no exceptions). You can send a certified/guaranteed funds check by express type mail or make a cash payment in person. If have any questions please feel free to ask and I will try to answer them as best as I can. The first twelve pictures were taken a few weeks ago when the weather was a bit nicer out. Picture thirteen shows that I have actually used the El Camino from time like it was meant to be. Picture fourteen shows it recently inside a small warehouse that we have after I unloaded some items I hauled there with it. Picture fifteen is the most recent and when I last had it out the other night and parked it next to a 1977 GMC Sprint project I am working on. I have included a picture of the screen shot image from my end as of 12/29 @ 10:30pm EST showing the numerous amount of interest and offers I have already had on this car in the short time it has been listed. I have also inluded the last three pictures showing the car the day I picked up, it still had mud flaps on it which I immediately removed.
Since most of the pictures were taken I have recently installed brand new left and right outside mirrors along with replacing all four of the side window and vent window hand cranks with brand new ones that have black knobs. The car also comes with brand door weatherstripping and brand new left and right outside door handles that I purchased for it but were never installed.
For those from far distances that need time to arrange transport of the El Camino there is no rush for pickup as long as the car is paid for in the allotted time frame stated.
