If you look up 1950s America in the dictionary chances are a photo of a Bel Air will be next to the definition. Despite a long production run from 1951 to 1981 the most famous Bel Airs are the 1955 to 1957 models. The styling was unique and all new with even a Ferrari inspired grill. Powerful V8s and optional automatic transmission meant the Bel Air was cutting edge as far as mechanicals. It was a high water mark for Chevrolet and the cars were even referred to as the "Hot One" in marketing lit...erature. GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this absolutely stunning 1955 example painted in two tone Harvest Gold and India Ivory. The paint is excellent and shows very well with good gloss and shine. The chrome trim is also excellent and shiny. This car looks very good and was originally a Florida car. Nearly new BF Goodrich tires are mounted on some aftermarket wheels. The interior is very beautiful and the bronze dash and brown seats and trim is a very eye catching combo. The dashboard and steering wheel look great and all the of the dashboard trim is intact and in great shape. The brown cloth bench seats and door panels look great with little wear. We have no documentation of it but this car looks good enough that it could have had a quality restoration. This car features a smooth running 265cid V8 mated to a 3-speed column shift manual. The car was originally a 6cyl car but is very well suited to the V8. The car has power steering and goes down the road very well. Despite looking very excellent the owners have driven this car a lot and the car is a very solid driver that will be a show stopper but won't stop getting to shows itself. They have owned this car for 15 years and have taken incredible care of it. It also has the owner's manual! It truly is a hot one.
