History on the 1957 Chevrolet Belair:There is something to be said about the serenity of being behind the wheel of an absolute classic. Driving down an open road on a beautiful, sunny day, top down, wind at your back, and the open road at your fingertips. With its illustrious past the “five-seven” has stolen the hearts of the collector community. The broad consensus is that despite its status as an “old design,” the ’57 Chevy still looks as fresh today as it did 60 years ago.Light gli...stens off the cool Turquoise paint, which still looks as flawless as it did the day it rolled off the showroom floor. The stunning chrome shines brilliantly as one gazes upon the car. Upon start up, the engine purrs nicely out of the newly installed muffler. With only 51K original miles from Texas with the original title (we have it), original owner convertible top, power steering, 1-piece bumper, powerglide automatic transmission, matching engine and transmission numbers, and a continental package, and only 3 owners since 1957, what more could you look for in a 57 Bel Air?We recently inspected the car thoroughly to make sure everything was in working order. The transmission needed a few gaskets, it needed new rear axle bearings, as well as rear bell housing mounts. Dynomat insulation was installed to ensure a nice, cool, quiet ride. A tune up was also performed which included a distributor rebuild, with new points and condensers. The suspension of the car was redone including new upper and lower control arm bushings, new front springs, and all the shocks, front and rear were replaced. New rear leaf springs were installed and the height was adjusted to correct specs. That way it would sit as it did when it rolled of the factory floor. A full alignment was performed after installing brand new original BF Goodrich tires as well.We examined the entire electrical system and every wire entirely including all connections and relays; we replaced anything necessary including a new under dash wiring harness, as well as all the gauges and instruments were inspected and repaired as needed. If you’re on the search for a vintage car you can just hop into and hit the open road with no worries, then this is the car for you. We welcome all inspections or PPI’s and we’d love for you to come down and look at this vintage piece of old Americana.Call John Buonanno at 203-446-2536 or email us at .
