1956 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Bel Air Additional Info:
The 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air has one of the most recognizable shapes in the automotive world.
This is a 2 owner local Bay Area California car from new. Originally sold by FH Dailey of Oakland, California. She still wears her original black and yellow California license plates. Its been owned by the second owner since 1993 and stored in its Burlingame garage. This beauty has only been driven on nice days and to occasional car shows.
This Bel Air four door hardtop retains its original GM code 700 Sierra Gold over Adobe Beige two tone paint colors with one prior repaint.
The original body panels are in excellent shape and haven't needed any large repairs. The car does not show any signs of previous accidents. The original panels and assembly line fit and finish assure that the doors close and align just as well as when the car left the factory. The two tone paint has been well maintained since restoration and shows very well.
All the stainless steel bright work are in original and amazing condition. Brightwork was removed and reinstalled for the complete repaint. The Bel Air is equipped with the original rebuilt Chevrolet small block 265 V8 with a correct Power Pack upgrade.
The original transmission is a rebuilt 2 speed power glide transmission. Carburetors are 4 barrel stock Rochester carbs in great condition. This car starts up with one click every time!
At the front, it features the original chrome bumper and grille which wraps around the corners of the car to meet the wheel openings. The headlights, complete with chrome surrounds, and square marker lights are clear and defect free and the original hood ornament and classic Chevrolet emblem both look factory fresh.
Original chrome door handles and a driver's side chrome mirror complement factory fresh looking Bel Air script with Chevrolet emblems on the rear fenders. The original rear bumper flows across the rear valence and around the corners of the car to tie into the descending stainless side trim.
On the trunk lid you'll find an original classic Chevrolet emblem, and the original tail lights, which hide the fuel filler, are in like new condition. All glass is as good as new and the original stainless around the glass is in good condition and has been well maintained throughout the years. Both front and rear windshield rubbers were replaced when car was repainted.
The red engine block and manifold feature original Chevrolet script valve covers. Original gray exhaust manifolds bolt in below a correct satin black generator with power steering upgrade. The undercarriage is solid and rust free. It is consistent with a garaged California car.
This was a factory optioned dual exhaust car and true to form, the car is currently equipped with a dual exhaust system that is complete with stainless factory tips with Chevrolet logo. Tires are newer Hankook white wall tires with less than 500 miles on them. They are finished with original unrestored aluminum Chevrolet hub caps that are in great shape.
The interior on this '56 Bel Air is very original and unrestored and is probably one of the coolest parts of the car.
It's the original GM code 618 Tan with Copper trim colors with front and rear bench seats. New plastics seat covers were just replaced which are exactly like original factory set. The headliner is original and tear free.
The carpets have been replaced and the car still has the heavy duty factory rubber floor mats for protection. The headliner is still white and factory tight. Out back, the trunk is perfect, with the original trunk mat and original full size spare with jack and wrench.
The suspension features upgraded Monroe shocks and load leveler springs to counter balance a heavy loads at the rear. Brake shoes are new along with wheel cylinders and drums. Brakes received a recent brake fluid flush.
The stock AM radio works great and the factory clock. The radio was upgraded with a secondary head unit nicely tucked under the dash. You can play am/fm/cd/xm tunes while cruising in this Bel Air. An optima red top battery was installed to ensure a strong start every time.
Included with the sale are: Owners manual, original Bel Air brochure, original key with dealer key chain, 2 motors (265 rebuilt and balanced, 265 original used motor), carbs, 2 power glide transmissions, plugs, and oil filter.
