1961 Chevrolet Corvair Additional Info:
Beautiful 1961 Chevrolet Corvair Rampside Pickup Truck. This truck has gone through a very extensive restoration and is truly a wonder!! I will attempt a complete description with all work performed in no particular order.Body Exterior: paint stripped, metal repaired where needed, floated primer, blocked BC/CC,cut and buffed. It is a custom light gray paint with a slight pearl sprayed into the clearcoat.Truck bed has a two-part bed liner. (Bedliner has a couple of small bloopers, tailgate top has one small crack less than one inch long, this can be repaired) Left rear panel has very slight color discoloration and could probably be color sanded out. Very slight and most don't even see this unless I point it out to them.Body Interior: paint stripped, blocked primer and single stage urethane 2K paint. Dash painted, headliner painted. Custom 3-way seat belts added.Body Seals: new body seals all around. All new window rubber, including the vent windows! New door weather strips, new indicator gaskets, etc.Cab: Bench seat was reupholstered, new foam etc. Custom diamond tread rubber cab mat, sun visors redone by upholstery shop.Brakes,Wheels and Suspension: Clarks dual master cylinder upgrade, new wheel cylinders, rubber hoses, shoes, and new drums. Wheels are painted GM Ralley Wheels with custom chrome center caps with "61 RAMPY" on them.Tires are almost new Hankook Optimo H724 size P215/70 R15 all around. Nice and wide. Truck has an Addco front sway bar and new shocks.Transmission and Differential: Rebuilt 4 speed transmission and 3:55 differential by Dan "The Trans Man". New clutch disk, pressure plate and bolted flywheel. Flywheel was bolted by Dave Palmer. Flywheel and PP were balanced. New throw out bearing.Engine: The engine rebuild was completed by a Corvair specialist: Mark Wright. It is a 110hp 1965 car engine. The engine was completely disassembled, cleaned and rebuilt from the ground up. The engine has the following upgrades ( all new, mostly from Clarks except where specified)Heads and cylinders done at EMS, a top Corvair machine shop in Los Angeles..030 overbored cylindersNew valve seats/springs,etc. totally rebuilt and then flashed by the engine builder.Forged pistons/molly ringsRay Sedman FC torque cam ( American Pie. pretty amazing cam for an FC!)Ray Sedman rebuilt lifters.New billet cam gear.Seth Emerson Distributor!Case prepped before rebuild ( deep clean, deburred, etc.)Otto oil pan finned and deeper than stock.New engine mount.Rebuilt harmonic balancer.Engine tins were all powder coated.Electrical: I have custom gauges in a cluster where the radio would go. Dual CHT ( Westach), Oil pressure and volts. Also have upgraded the dash lights, convenience light ( cab and added lights under dash) to LED's) The turn indicators are also LED's. Fog lights and an OOGaaa horn round out the unnecessary but fun accessories
