1942 Chevrolet Other Pickups Additional Info:
Up for sale is a special opportunity to own a very unique 1942 Chevrolet G-7117 Military 4-Wheel Drive Dump Truck. This Chevrolet is truly one of a kind... the ideas and potential to this truck are endless... We are a family owned and operated dealership located in Battle Creek, MI. We will work with the customer to make this the best experience for all parties involved... not only have we been in business for over 37 years.. but we are also classic car enthusiasts.. We are here to work for you! If anyone has any questions or would like more pics.. Please do not hesitate to ask. When this 1942 Chevrolet arrived at our dealership.. I took one walk around.. Fired up the Detroit Diesel.. and I instantly knew that this truck could be something special to the right customer.. I will complete this listing to the best of my ability.. but I repeat and encourage.. to ask questions and if I am missing any pics.. I will provide them. The body on this truck is very clean... no signs of any major fiberglass work or previous poor repairs.. This truck is solid!! Only area that appears to need work is on the cab next to the driver’s door (pic provided in listing) Overall, the cab, fenders, hood and dump bed are in extremely nice condition and shows very well. The undercarriage is just as nice or even in better condition than the top-side. No signs of major repair... very nice all the way around... The paint is overall in decent condition... I would grade it as a 5 out of 10... You can tell its an older enamel paint job that was completed many years ago.. to make this truck a show winner.. a paint job would make this truck phenomenal. Still very presentable and looks awesome driving down the road. The engine is a 3-cylinder 353 series Detroit diesel with a super-charger... engine has very low run time.. starts right up with a touch of the key and runs like champ.. Idles smoothly... and has just a incredible amount of torque and throttle response.. The transmission is a Clark 5-speed with a heavy duty hydraulic clutch... and it is also equipped with a Mitchell Customer high-low range gear-box.. The transmission shifts great.. goes through the gears with no issues.. clutch pedal is not for the faint of heart.. takes a strong leg to work it if you were in traffic or driving at the local downtown cruise-in. The truck runs on a 12 Volt system.. no battery drain.. starts up with ease every time it is needed. A very nice feature to this 1942 beast is that it is equipped with power steering and power brakes... which definitely adds to the reliability to this one of a kind truck! This Chevrolet is equipped with the original 4x4 transfer case and the original front and rear differentials. The interior is appears to be original with the exception of the aftermarket bench seat. Doors open and close with ease... windows travel up and down with no issues.. front windshield even extends and opens out from the factory.. Gauges work great.. definitely a time-period correct interior that really adds appeal to this beast!Braided-steel brake and fuel lines. Alcoa aluminum wheels with 22" radial tires that all match and have at least 75% tread left all showing even wear. The Dump-Bed with Galion hoist controls works great... no hesitation spots.. travels right up and down with ease!Overall, the possibilities to this beautiful beast are endless... advertising platform.. conversation piece and potential show winner… all with one vehicle!! Truly a one of a kind truck that definitely stands out from the normal everyday crowd... this truck rolls down the road nicely.. top speed is right at 45 mph.. Not the ideal set-up for the long road trip or out of town cruise-in.. but for the local events and just the general conversation piece.. this truck will draw the attention! Like I said, please ask questions and I will provide answers to the best of my ability.. if anyone would like more pics.. do not hesitate to ask! You can call or text 269.two zero nine
