1955 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 210 Additional Info:
Drivetrain:⦁350 Engine 010 block⦁Edelbrock Performer RPM Heads⦁Edelbrock Performer RPM Manifold⦁Edelbrock 650 Thunder AVS carburetor with electric choke⦁New Electronic ignition with billet distributor, 8mm wires and vertical mounted spark plug wire holders⦁Ceramic coated headers⦁March serpentine belt system⦁Full custom 2.5" exhaust with Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers and crossover tube⦁Unsure of cam specs. Engine runs very strong and does not smoke⦁Custom heavy duty aluminum radiator with shrouded dual electric fans. Fans are on temperature sensor (in block) as well as switched from dash. This setup will keep the car at 180 degrees even during the hottest days.⦁700R4 Transmission w/shift kit and trans cooler⦁2200 RPM Stall⦁Lokar Shifter⦁Line Lok/Roll Control⦁Rare 3.55 geared 12 bolt Eaton posi rearend from 1966 Chevy Nova. Has been completely rebuilt with new clutches, springs, bearings, axles, and disc brakes. Have close to $3000 just in the rearend. This rearend is an inch narrower than the factory 1955 rearend, which allowed for the wider rear tires.
Suspension:⦁4-wheel power disc brakes⦁Caltrac traction bars⦁New rear shocks with shock relocation bar (so shocks no longer need to bolt to trunk floor).⦁Jim Meyer Racing complete adjustable coil over front end with tubular A-arms and power rack and pinion steering.⦁17" Torque Thrust II wheels all the way around. 6" in front, 8" in back. Rear tires are 275 M&H drag radials. Mostly bought them because they filled out the wheel wells and looked great.⦁Car has been converted to side engine mounts and rear crossmember for the transmission.
Interior:⦁Ididit Chrome Tilt steering column with Carrera leather wrapped steering wheel⦁Complete Painless wiring harness⦁Interior is presentable but is starting to show its age. Carpet is good, the front seat passenger side is starting to tear down a seam (couple of inches). I have sewed it up a bit, but the fabric is starting to get a bit thin. Again, very usable as a driver, but not a show car.⦁Clock in dash does not work. Speedometer does not work (the 700R4 has an electronic speedo gear and I have not taken the time to replace it with a mechanical gear).⦁All lights and windshield wipers function as they should. There is no heater in the car. I installed a deluxe heater switch in the dash just because I think they look cool.⦁Aftermarket stereo is hidden in the glove box. Stereo has a remote and USB outlet (along with MP3 and all the other stuff). Dual voice speaker in the front speaker outlet and two 6x9's in the rear deck. Sounds great.
Body/Paint:⦁Front and rear bumpers are new. The quarter and door chrome/stainless are in excellent condition. The stainless around the windows is in good shape, but has a couple spots where it is losing its luster. The grill is in great shape. All glass is good with no cracks. The back window has some pretty big scratches on it, but can only notice if you look right at it up close. All windows roll up and down as they should. All windows have new window felts and the vent windows have new rubber, so the car seals up nice and tight. The doors close solid.⦁The paint is driver quality at best. It looks great from 5-10 feet away, but up close the paint is getting thin and has a lot of scratches/scrapes which have been filled in with touch up. I am not a body/paint person, but the body looks straight to me. I can run a quality magnet around the entire car and it sticks everywhere. Some of the places where there are body seams have normal cracking (front A pillar and below the rear tail lights). The driver front apron (small piece between front fender and below bumper) has a small crinkle in it. Not noticeable unless you look right at it. I have included a few pictures of the some scratched/touched up areas. I can send more pictures on request.⦁The trunk and floor pans have been professionaly replaced and are very solid. The undercarriage is clean. There is no rust on the car that I can see other than minor surface rust which shows up next to some of the chrome window trim and in some places on the body where the paint has been scraped.
Summary:In general, this is an awesome driving 1955 Chevy. With the overdrive transmission, it will cruise down the freeway without issue. Although the paint does have issues, it still shines up great and looks fabulous driving/cruising. I encourage a personal viewing where possible. I've tried to give an honest evaluation of the car. As I've said above, mechanically, this car very sound and reliable. If you want a trailer queen car with perfect paint and interior, this isn't it; however, if you want a solid, rust free 1955 Chevy which is a great driver/cruiser - this should be a contender.
