1963 Chevrolet Impala SS Additional Info:
1963 Impala SS ConvertibleJust removed from indoor storage since 1990! Car is in extremely good condition, with almost no rust at all. Look at the pictures, you won't find another like this. Car appears to have been painted once long ago in its original white color. Not a high-end job, just some body and paint shop job, typical of older work. Trim was masked, not removed. The original interior looks fantastic, no cracks in steering wheel. Carpet was replaced long ago, and looks great, not faded or worn. Padded dash, not cracked or even faded. Power top works as it should, but has some stains that may or may not clean up. All windows roll up and down, everything on the car still works properly (horn, lights, blower, etc). Rear plastic window needs to be replaced, it is dark and cloudy.I am helping the owner sell off her deceased husband's cars, and I will do my best to describe as accurately as possible to prevent disappointments. Bidders are strongly urged to contact me (see vin # in listing) so I can describe condition. I have replaced the battery, master cylinder, fuel pump, and carb gaskets. Car fires up and drives pretty nice, but is not yet road-worthy (old tires, leaky radiator, etc). Data plate shows 327 engine, but I think the engine is NOT the original. I believe it is a 350, circa 1974. No smoke or knocks. Powerglide transmission shifts great, power brakes, power steering.I have put this car on the lift, and photographed the entire underside. Only a couple small rust spots visible. Floor pans and trunk look perfect! The worst rust by far, anywhere is the backside of the hood edge (see photos). Rockers, bottoms of doors, and quarter panels do not appear rusty, or patched. There are obvious spots of Bondo, but look like old dents repaired the old way (smeared with filler and painted). I can not tell you anything other than what I see, as this work was all done by someone else over 30 years ago. This would be an excellent car to restore, or enjoy just as it is. It is far nicer as is than most cars at local shows! It has obviously been well cared for it's entire life. Old inspection sticker is from New York, and was bought from a classic car dealer in New Jersey in 1990. Then put in storage, until Oct. 2017!!!I will assist with YOUR transporter, and be happy to put it on the lift so you can have it inspected at my shop. Again, we're not hiding anything here. We are not car dealers, just helping out.
