1981 Chevrolet C-10 Custom Deluxe Additional Info:
You are looking at a 1981 C 10 with 5 years of of personal project work. The truck has been mechanically professionally built and painted. I designed and installed the interior and overall truck design. Being an "inliner" and love inline engines they are so smooth, reliable and sound wonderful. I found a Chevy 292 we think is from a 1977 C 20 and had the engine completely rebuilt by Chris Johnson Racing Engines in Auburn, IN. Bored 30 over, every part in the engine is new or rebuilt by Chris. The engine was balanced and has a Clifford heated aluminum intake manifold with a Weber 38/38 two barrel carb, cast iron headers, bulldog cam, new fuel pump, motor mounts, starter and runs perfect. The turbo 350 was rebuild by Russ Moore in Warsaw IN, with a new radiator and electric fuel pump.I brought the truck as a simple Custom Deluxe and it had a pretty good body, some typical rust areas but not bad. A body shop performed the required body work, painted the truck two tone and added the molding. No rust is present, but they did use a filler in some places.New rear leaf springs and four new shocks, Firestone tires and OEM factory (very hard to fine) aluminum wheels were installed. The truck was aligned and a new exhaust system was installed.I added a Chevy tilt steering wheel, perfect bucket seats from a Suburban and modified the Suburban console with a sub woofer. Two amps were installed under the passenger seat powering the four speakers in the dash and the console sub woofer.I added a mechanical water temp and oil pressure gauge to the custom designed dash.I really enjoyed building this truck and hate to see it go, but time to move to another projectThe CD section in the radio does not work, (got oil on it from bleeding the oil pressure gauge) and the radio has a little alternator whine, I pod, radio and aux outlets work fine.Horn does not work and the parking bake cable needs to be connected.Everything else is perfect. 1,500 miles on the engine and transmissionI will answer any questions, nothing to hid on this truck.
