This 1981 Chevrolet Malibu is a hammer in search of nails. Purpose-built to be a street/strip threat, it's combat-ready with a strong-running small block, full race gauges, and mean green paint. The chiseled good looks of this GM intermediates have aged rather well, and the real secret behind this one is the level of quality. Pro-Street machines often look like their body panels were bolted on like an afterthought to keep the car street legal. Instead, this Malibu has a professional level panel fit that is highlighted by a nice glossy respray of its factory Light Jadestone color. Of course no one will mistake this coupe for some regular survivor. It has seriously aggressive custom features such as tinted headlights, blacked-out taillights, sleeker body colored bumpers front & rear, hood pins, and the iconic black SS stripe package. And even if somehow all of those features were missed, no one could ever deny the performance appearance of the fiberglass hood with massive power bulge. The final touch is the set of 15-inch Weld wheels with staggered tire size for that aggressive racer stance. Open the door, and you'll see the same green and black color scheme on the exterior is continued inside this Chevy. The custom layout gives the bench seats a nice cloth insert for individual comfort. It feels kinda cool that the driver gets the original Malibu wheel, because everything else fees very custom. It starts with the large AutoMeter tach mounted on the steering column that has a shift light so you can take full advantage of the floor-mounted line-lock shifter. There are not only matching gauges on the dash, but also fuel and pressure readouts are mounted within the cowl induction hood. This one might feel like a racecar right down to the toggle switches on the dash, but the AM/FM/CD stereo reminds you that this one can also just be fun for cruising on a Saturday night. You won't be disappointed when you life the hood. Not only does the 350 cubic-inch small block shine nicely in the tidy engine bay, but also it's been built with some serous power in mind. The performance upgrades include Quick Fuel 750 CFM carburetor, Edelbrock intake, MSD Ignition with adjustable timer, large K&N air filter, and performance long tube headers. With this total package, you better believe there's a wicked growl coming from the dual exhaust. To handle all this power there is GM's trusty TH350 three-speed automatic that feeds an upgraded rear end. The control comes from the wide 28x11.5 Mickey Thompson tires in the rear and disc brakes up front.Fast, affordable, and very custom, this cool little Malibu delivers big in the areas that matter most. You don't need to spend a big pile of cash to have a bunch of fun, and this car is proof. Call today!!!
